I hate this.. really hate this..
I lost a good game i played entirely on penalties.. What on earth were they thinking when they claimed penalties have been well done in this version?

whatever you do, there is a 99% chance that your shot wont find the back of the net. everything just goes out. and power control? Big LOL! i pressed 'Down' and 'shoot' for a grounded shot and (*%$(#$ its blasted way way way over.. and dont even mention placing the ball. Directions are for those who want to kill someone in the stands. previous versions had much better penalty taking..

sad... i really hate it when at times the games moves onto penalties..
btw.. i am playing Master League with Wolves, Hardest Mode.. lost a good game on penalties in the League Cup versus Chelsea... :(
Lost a world cup Semi Finals on Penalties.. i see stats that i had got 22 penalties till now.. i think only 3 went in.. X(

Its not that hard. Just practice.
Its different from all other versions so dont do the things that used to work.... Try new stuff. Worked for me and if it doesnt then watch the videos and learn.

I prefer it.

hmm... ok guys.. will check it out.. even in training i dont seem to get ideas..

@anas. i tap the 'shot' button. just once. in the sense that i try to get the least power on the ball.. but it doesnt seem to work here..

I am glad that you have mastered penalties which i have in training,but how many have you had ? i have had quite a lot of games and not one penalty yet you must be bribing the ref lol

i've "mastered" penalties but they're still rubbish to take. also i checked my gallery and ive received 0 penalties after hundreds of hours of gaming

Where do you guys practice them? I don't see an option in training.

I have to say, I can't hit one to save my life... I think Im something like 0-10 on PKS in this game LOL!

When you (if ever) get a penalty - you have to first press square. Then when the player is getting near the ball, slightly press the direction you want to shoot. You do not want to press down arrow ever. And you do not want to just hold the directional button from the start..

I like the new way of taking penalties - just too bad i only get one every 2nd season because of shite refs.

True, not many penalties, but that's also because you don't get many opportunities in the box. The ref is also a problem.

Once you get used to it, it is better. I spend like half an hour in training just taking penalties continuously, and once you 'get it' it does make alot more sense.

Just about one of the only things they have got right this year...

I'll give the videos a try, because I've had one penalty shootout so far and it was horrendous, really difficult to get the ball where you want it to go and really easy to blast it wide.

I don't have much trouble scoring the penalties, but I don't think this system is any better than the old one. I actually think it's a tad worse, once the "awe" of a new addition faded...

the penalty system in 2009 was great ,but the best thing that konami does is to fuck up the best parts of the game every year ....

Why they messed around with the penalties is mind boggling.

Surely the time they spent tweaking the penalties would have been better improving other areas. From my knowledge, no one has ever complained about the penalty taking before now???
What were they thinking?????
