The New Master League (A request)

For me the Master League is the ultimate reason for acquiring PES games, it takes over everything and brings meaning back to my life. At this stage if the year I am getting to the end of stupid missions like trying a team consisting of only goalkeepers (Not recomended) or selling a whole team and starting with only players aged 17 or younger (I get bored quickly) Now the hunt is on for Master League info for the coming installment. Can anyone out there fill me in. Number of divisions, teams etc. Someone take the time to give a good description. Hopefully the comp teams can score this time around. It was all too easy to get through a season conceeding very few goals. Even top strikers blow great opportunities. Go on Konami make it rock hard!

whats new

I have been playing we9 for a while now ind if pro evo5 is the same then your going to be in a spot of bother. Its god damn hard on three stars the computer foils every pass stops every move in its tracks and then keeps the ball like a bunch of wizards. In the event you actually get through on goal youll beter have mastered the new shot with r2 or you will be going nowhere fast. But saying that it makes for a much more exciting game you will battle for every match and when you do win it is a lot more rewarding. The motion capure is shit hot with players sholder barging grabbing and pushing the dribbling passing and shooting is a lot more realistic there is new animation new cut scenes players get indjured at any point in the game therse a lot more I cant think of at this moment.

I have WE9 and I'm about halfway through my first Master League season.

So, if have any specific questions about the new Master League, then fire away and I'll be happy to answer your questions.

I never liked the Master League; only reason I played was to unlock all the trophies-then after that, I never went back. I just play PES with my mates in multiplayer instead.

I am actually playing a 6* master league on a Jap WE9.

It´s very similar to the one you have in pes4 except this time is difficult. And I really mean it.

I have just get promoted from Div2 with a customized team and i have noticed two things.

1. Good and expensive players almost always reject your offers, eventhougth you have been promoted.

2. It´s going to be difficult to get those 8-0 scores. I mean this time the computer have a real defence. (No more 1-2 easy defence breakers).

The promotion has been solved in the last match, only because my nearest competitor lost and i won.

A quick explanation.

4 Leagues. BundesLiga, Premier, La Liga Española, French League, and other leagues. You must have noticed that i mention five of them, it´s just because from the five leagues the computer is going to pick four. In my first league I didn´t notice this and there was no Premier League. :realmad:
I had to start all this again.

Everything else stays the same. An 8-team DIV2. A DIV2 Cup. 2 promoted.
Major difference is in the training system. You only choose one area of training per off-season day, which causes fatigue and it can´t even injured your player because of over-training. No more cones, or passes. The downsize of these is that you can´t create superplayers just like in PES4.

And believe me. This time is very difficult. The most goals i have scored in a 6* match is 2.

My record in PES4 is 14-1 in 6* mode, 10 Min. Match. All titles won in all seasons. I guess this time is going to be different.

Thank you for that post........it makes pes5 sound sooo good, i cant wait.

I'm glad they have made it harder as i am tired of crusing through all my ML matches, its boring. But now, it seems alot better, with the injuries in training and in matches etc.

One question: Do players like Ronaldinho, C.Ronaldo etc actually stand out in your team? I mean like in PES4 I could have a young Fabregas and Rooney in my team and I couldnt notice any drastic difference in quality.

I Just Loved How even on three stars, it's difficult to score goals, where as in fifa, I cud go up to three and still feel like it was playin on 1 star, and I find, with it not being easy, it is more rewardin when u score a goal, or win a match, altho one time, I was playin some team, I beat them 8-2 I was Like woah

Thats some good information!!!!
What about injuries this time round? It was entirely possible and probable to get through a season with only one or two small injuries. Is this changed. I would like to see season long injuries more like real life. Hardly any player should be making it through a season un-injured.
Also is the qualifying for the WEFA Cup the same. I have never qualifyed for it because its too easy to get into the the WEFA championships. They should make it top 4 not 6 and then 4 more for the cup...

What about the teams in a division.
Will you play against teams from all over. Like you'll have to play Barcelona, Inter, PSV, Prag... in other words you can only randomise who is in your division.

Or is it like in PES3 where it is with North (i.e. England, Schottland, etc.)

Or (this would be the best) can you edit the teams in your division, like in PES4 after buying ML EDIT. In other words, can you edit your div. from the beginning or do I have to go play world cup again until I have like 10 000 WEN to have the teams I want???

Thanks for answering ahead of time...

I like the sound of this so far, Com teams are harder, signing players is harder its all looking up. Just hope they have added realistic injuries

Updated Information

Some answers to the previous question.

You can customize the teams in the leagues but you have to buy that from the WE-Shop. I think is costs 2000 Point. Sorry I am not sure. I made the money with training, and Asian and African Cups. ( I only play WE because of the Master League, i don't care about anything else).

I have seen almost minor injuries amongst my team. But now the recuperation period ( You know, when the arrows become greyed) seemed to be longer.

I really like the fact that now the players can be injured without a foul. It seemed unrealistic that players only get injured when they get a foul in Pes4.

I am just about to end my second season on DIV1 6* as the Champion. I have managed to sign Eusebio (WOW), a youngster named Shimitzu, Rijkaard, Moore, and a few others during the winter off-season. Now i have a far more competitive team. I am not cheating ( you know, turn off the ps2 when you are losing).

By mid-season i was third place on DIV1 so many players agreed to sign me.
(At the end of the first season just when i get promoted only a few care to sign).

I have noticed that with my improved players my formation is not functional anymore. The problem is the second top (ST), i am not quite sure how to use this new role.He is not quite offensive nor defensive so he always tends to stay out of the play (No matter what player i use there he tends to get a 5.5 qualification).

The surprise of my team is Kallstrom, I got it just to be a substitute an now he is a definitive starter.

I use Formation A to turn my left CB into a very offensive LSB and my left side has become into my most effective attacking side. It´s weird because in previous versions i depend mostly on my right side players.

I have managed to understand the game. And now i can win most of my matches.

In pes4 i used to depend on the medium cross (O-O) now the low cross
(O-O-O) is the most effective cross for my gameplay. You have to have a good positioning striker to use this cross, but believe me, the new goal animations are awesome.

I have learnt to build my play. Now you can protect the ball with the body in an effective way and it's nice when you can do it inside the box and either get a penalty or dribble your way to score.

My central CB used to be a tall one, with good jump and header in PES4. Now use a fast one because now the CPU players are very good with the through-ball.

_____________________________________________________________
I FORGOT TO TELL YOU THIS IN MY FIRST POST AND IT'S IMPORTANT
_____________________________________________________________

Have you noticed that in PES4 sometimes a computer team buys a legendary player (Like Plattini) and he doesn't use him because in his programmed formation there is no such role (OMF in the Plattini's case).

Now the Computer changes formation depending on your team, his players, and the kind of game (Home, Visitor, Cup, etc.).

There is no more fixed 4-4-2 formations for the same team all time. Now they change the formation.

I really hated the fixed formation in PES4 but now if they have Plattini they alter the original formation to give him a space. I really love this.

Ah, and now they use to rotate players. I remembered that in PES4 sometimes you had to face the same team 4 times in a row. (League-Cup-WEFA Championship) And the computer will always use the same formation with the same players (Quite unrealistic, they never get tired). Now they change their formations and the players they use.

Now players get tired from match to match. I have Littbarski in my team and he could barely manage two entire matches in a row without fatigue. Now you need really good subs.

In negotiations - talent search there is a new option called utility players (They can play five roles minimum) i recommend to have a few good ones in your team.

Finally Cruyff can play ALL ROLES (CB-SW-OMF-DMF-SMF-SB-SW-WG-CF-ST-CMF-RMF-LMF) except goalkeeper. C'mon.

Hope you are interested in all this info.

one thing that really wound me up in the master league in pes4 was the unrealistic signings such as gerrard signing for fulham and cannavaro going to sampdoria. Also can you still have the option in the master league to pick the real team squad such as starting with united and having rooney & van nistelrooy etc?Glad to hear that the difficulty setting will be harder as it was far to easy on pes4 and it sort of lost the hole emphasis of the master league.

I agree there were not enough long-term injuries previously, although at one point when I was playing an International League recently, Stelios was injured in the 2nd game of the season for 33 weeks and even when he came back, he was on a grey arrow, so he never played again!!

As for the WEFA Master Cup, I agree that I hope the game is tougher so you don't just sail into the WEFA Championship... what were you supposed to do, deliberately lose games to qualify for the lesser competition??
