Let me just start off by saying that this is a very important post for people who loved the way this game used to be.
I, like a lot of you old skool gang used to love this game to bits and could play against mates for hours and hours on end, but then something happened and Konami decided to go all next generation right after PES6.
This for me is where the ship turned from the Black pearl to the Titanic and no matter how many times I tried to deal with the changes the magic was just wasn't there and I quickly became bored. Then the next instalment would be announced and I would go back to PES6 and wait for the supposed all new and improved version, this would be Known as PES2009.
So before long I'm building myself up for the Demo version of the game and all is well, until I actually play it. Straight away I'm thinking it's the same game I just binned for almost a year but my conscience said give it a good chance, it has to be good Seabass said it was fixed, so I wanted to wait for the full release because on the boards everybody said it was only a work in progress.
So I forget about the game again for a few months until the full release
is out and then we'll really get to see the whole package with all these new ground breaking moves and tactics added to just polish off what was to be the best PES ever!!!!
I get the game the day it's released and install it with a belly full of optimism and before long it's ready to rock n roll. Unfortunately the only rock n rolling it done was back in the road to the shop where I bought it. To make matters worse I lived this Konami dream for the last 3 years and every time they catch me, kinda like Man Utd with late goals.
This brings me upto date on what has turned out to be a delightful day. Today I got my hands on PES2010 on the Nintento Wii and with nothing else to do said I'd try it out, I heard the controls were more like a fishing simulator but never the less I had nothing better to do and tried it out. Immediately the graphics brought me back to the way PES6 looked, completely different to the i-Robots we were asked to play with on PC/360/PS3, this was really really how it used to look when the game was in it's prime but I still had the controls to deal with and this was my next mission.
Sitting down 15minutes through the fishing tutorial and I'm thinking, if this had a PAD it could be something I'd get into, so I hit the options and there and behold is the option for the Nintendo Classic controller!!!
I'm thinking this is too good to be true, there's no way this will work out, it's Konami, they balls thing up on purpose. So jump into a game, and by Jesus did I nearly cry. This game is playing perfectly, it's got everything PES6 had and more. The controls are perfection and you quickly forget that it's not a PS controller anymore but this new little Nintendo Pad that's doing a fine job.
I mean it lads, tonight myself and one of the lads had a few games of it and before long the night had run away with itself, just like the old days.
