This defensive player catchup issue has gotten too much!!

Cmon! I thought the patch would address this issue or at least reduce it but HELL NO!! I hate it so much that its really making me not want to play anymore! I create great chances to free up my attackers only to have the defender who is out of position catch up and take the ball away! I understand at times if the defender reads the cut and anticipates the pass and is on the attacker but CMON! Yesterday I did a through pass to Pato and he was in stride sprinting towards the penalty area... The defender I believe it was Puyol was facing AWAY from his goal in the opposite direction of my sprinting Pato but somehow he was still able to recover and catch him before I could get a good shot off! FU Konami for implementing such a BS gamplay!

It's an issue that needs to be addressed, so quit flame baiting him. Besides, it isn't a simple case of "switching to FIFA", as that game has so much more wrong with it in my eyes. I've played both extensively pretty lately, and generally speaking, what PES does right, FIFA does wrong, and vice versa.

Thx. It is something that needs to be addressed, if you look back at my posts this is really all I complain about the game. Why should we just accept it? We paid our hard earned money for the game so we have a right to discuss it for good and for bad right? I've been loyal to PES/WE for the past 10 years and I want the game to be as good as possible thus bringing up these issues for discussion and hopefully eventually Konami would see or hear about the problems and address them for future games and or patch the current one.

Aye, this A.I. issue totally negates my style of play. Obviously as Spurs, I have Lennon on one side and Bale on the other but sluggish, out of position defenders can still catch them yet it seems to be the other way round when it's me chasing them.

If you're playing against the computer then that shit doesn't happen on regular difficulty. The game is the most realistic on that level and it's not as easy as it used to be, especially since the new patch.

Seriously, there are people of these boards that literally spend majority of their time bitching about this and that and just wanting the game to be "as good as possible". It's sad to read how much a video game means to some people lol Take a step back and I don't know...get a life?!

Is it so hard to state your issue (since some feel the constant need to bitch) and move on. Some of you are like a bunch of crabby old bags spouting off about how everything sucks. Either adjust to it or move on. IT'S AN F-ING VIDEO GAME! When an issue is addressed, you find another and so on.

Most of you who do this say "that's what the boards are for" as your excuse to constantly complain. And then you turn around and complain when someone like myself rebuts. IRONIC LOL I love my first post, because it's so true, so I'll post it again:

Passing, crosses, people using so and so online all the time, arrows pointing down, can't change teams, no US patches, and your infamous "how many ppl here have gone back to PES2010?" thread (where everyone except you laughs the title of your thread off because 2011 is so much better) just to name a few of your RECENT complaints.

This could go on forever because you are "last post guy", the guy who has to have the last word even after constantly making an ass of himself. What do you have to say for yourself regarding that quote??

I spend a lot less time gaming now as I once did and as a football fan the majority of that time is on my favorite football title. Even as a fan of the P.E.S. title I do bite the shit out of my controller when the game clearly cheats me in ways such as this.

Does anyone know if the extra extra long dribble increases speed? It's hard to pull off but you send the ball a good 10 yards ahead of you as you dribble.

it doesn't really increase speed. The defender gets glued to the ball and will pass your player to get the ball regardless.

As long has DIECI doesn't go on about the same things over and over in completely unrelated threads, I have no problem with him having a little rant.

This problem has been in PES for years. Obviously it's a way of balancing things out, so people don't just abuse the fast players. In a way, it does work, but I do think that the scale needs to be tipped a little more in favour of the faster players. If there's a small difference in speeds the defender should have the advantage (since it's quicker running with out the ball), but if there is a larger difference, the player with the ball (ie the faster player in this case) should have the advantage.

On +2 gamespeed you'll find players have slighty more burst of acceleration, not to the point of being able to skin other players but enough to get past someone to get into position. by the wind up merchants you mean the acceleration of players when they get the ball? I notice on +1 (havent tried +2) its not as noticable but on default speed some players when they get the ball seem to accelerate like they're running on ice or mud for the first few strides before reaching top speed. This is also a factor on the defenders catching up. I find myself wanting to pass the ball as soon as my player gets it to prevent this from happening... It wasn't really an issue last year or in the PS2 games... hopefully its just a hickup for 2011.
