Tilted Camera

Okay i've been searching about for a while but no-one seems to be able to tell me if PES2009 will re-introduce the option to tilt the camera 1-9 like in every other game of ISS/PES before 2008. I was gutted that it was removed because I cant stand the floating camera, its so unrealistic.

I cant believe no-one else seems to care about this. Everyone is crazy about the level of detail in the game, yet the most fundamental aspect in my view that makes a footie game realistic is having a tv-like viewing aspect.

Would appreciate it if someone could tell me, as I think my buying the game upon its release may depend on this.

Thanks

i haven't heard anything on this. it may be something you will only find out when you get the game. i know what you mean tho.

I heard from a play test (probably about a month ago) that this feature is not in the game this year. Shame, as it really does add realism. (will still be a good game though)

And that's not to say it hasn't been added since.

Fin, I am with you 100% on this one. I have enjoyed the "Tilt" since when I first started playing PES and it is the most realistic camera angle you can have.

When they omitted it from 2008, that pretty much knackered the game for me and to think they may leave it out of 2009 is just shocking!

Even FIFA have incorporated some manual camera tweaks this year. The game camera is the most important thing and I think all angles should be in there as Konami are alienating people like you and me by leaving this feature out.

I for one probably will get the PS2 version, AGAIN, just to play the game properly.

If anyone has played it, can they let us know for definite? Thanks

that's a bit strong, if they were alienating you, they would have printed on the cover "jon_blade does not have a right to purchase this game" ;)

Though I am with you on the importance of this camera, it's not going to change much about the game itself, it would however just enhance it.

there is new camera modes.

Camera enhanced:

New vertical camera, allowing end-to-end view including 'Player Focus' zoom, panning in on key one-on-one situations

New distance drawing techniques using adjusted chromatic fields

This option improves the game dramatically. It gives the game kind of an isometric view. It improves the passing as you are able to see more players on the pitch. It also improves shooting and scoring as it allows you to have the goal almost in front of you. It's a very small feature but it makes a world of difference. Hopefully they have include it in the PES 09 or added something similar.

Okay thanks for the responses, I'm glad to see I'm not alone in this.

Perhaps the reason that the feature was removed had something to do with the slowdown/lag whatever you want to call it. As with the tilted angle you see more of the crowd etc. If this is the case then fair enough, but to be totally honest I would still use that camera in spite of the lag, nonetheless I would like to have the choice.
I guess we'll have to wait until there is a demo available until we find out for definite.

Oh and did someone say the PS2 version still had this feature? if so I may just buy that instead.

Also, if this is true, and yet there is still no 1-9 tilt option then in my eyes I would consider it a massive oversight from Konami. How could you add all these new fancy features whilst ignoring the basics.

Kev, a good quip, I like it BUT the fact is they are alienating me as I am put off buying the game because of this issue. It was a generalisation. Lets hope it is in the game though.

On the PC version of pes2008 there wasn't the camera tilt option, but there was something i downloaded allowing you to control the tilt 1-9.... does anyone know if this could be the case also with the ps3 version?
if it was we could just patch it thro?
what i said might not make any sense, im not too clued up on patching etc

edit - i just read that there are 8 camera angles each with 3 different heights, surely we could just use broadcast angle at a greater height to remedy situation of not being able to tilt wide angle?

Hey Fin and you guys, just played PS3 demo and there is no tilt option, however I live in hope as they have only included 3 angles in the demo - Long, Wide and Vertical. The wide option is far more playable than 2008 but first impressions are yes, an improvement, but not as much as it should have been.

Hello All :) Been Playing the new great demo on my pc and there is no option of a tilted camera "HOWEVER" it´s possible to get a patch for the demo witch gives you an option to pick from 1-9, I just tried it and it works, it makes the game 10 times better. So I´m very hopefull that this will be in the full game, if not you just download a patch if you have a pc. There was no patch like this for Pes 2008 so I think it´s gonna feature in the new game ;)

I can't imagine them changing the game in a patch to enable the tilt view. Hopefully it just unlocks the feature from the full game in the demo.

Konami will not release a patch themselves for the Tilted camera but the unofficial patch for the demo makes the Tilted camera available, so I thinks its gonna be in the full game :)
