Hey guys....

I PM'ed Jag (thanks for ya help mate!!!) about these slide card thingies.... sounds pretty good....

Im just wondering has anyone got a slide card working where your PS2 is in a vertical position (ie standing updwards)

Jag seemed to think that the slide card works better with the PS2 in a horizontal position....

in my TV cabinet the only space ive got is where the PS2 is standing vertically (its sitting it a genuine PS2 stand by the way) so it cant be moved...

if someone has the slide card thing working on a VERTCIALLY Postioned PS2 id love to hear about it before I buy one!!

cheers lads!

Blotto!

blotto_otto,

CONFIRMATION; the slide card does work standing verticle as that is the position i have mine. Using the slide card does not change anything internal of your ps2, you have to remove the front panel of the tray but the tray doesnt hold the disc in.

Hope this helps regards,

PS: i use a silver ps2 and it is compatible just in case you have a silver ps2 and wondered..?

How do you take the front of the disc tray off to use the slide card on the satin silver machine? Markanddawn you have done that yes?

the same way as you do the black one apart from there is no screw. just be careful because there are 2 clips at each end of the tray (underneath), carefully and very very slowly easy it off, i slightly snapped one of mine, but that does not matter you can glue them back together i suppose. i like the slide card method but it is a pain having to boot it up everytime you want to play, im getting mine chipped when warranty runs out.

would'nt the disk just fall out as soon as you have the opened the tray........................ it was always going to open vertically aswell. I dont know what made u think it would'nt............. just makes sense to have the ps2 flat.

The tray has a lip around one side to stop discs sliding out.

Its at the bottom if the console is standing vertical, and towards the left if your facing the console sitting flat.

I hope a slide card doesn't make a differencem because I've ordered one. The only change mentioned is the front panel on the disc tray.

Actually I don't know why Sony don't make the surface of the tray from 'soft-touch' plastic (as on some controllers), to minimise the risk of scratching discs when taking them out/putting them in the machine.
