First of all, these are just my thoughts. Everyone who agrees, please leave reply.
Here i go:
--This year too, KONAMI filled PES2013 with a hundred nonsense (some of them came from previous versions, some of them came with 2013).
--"Can it be the best PES ever?" i was telling myself while i was playing 2013 on my first week, but unfortunately "the things that has driven me crazy in 2012 and made the game unplayable for me after a week" are gone, but the new ones arrived..
--Players who has the same, even lower overalls compared to your player are WAY MORE agile than you, and they officially don't give the damn ball.. Attention here: THEY MAKE NO MISTAKE ABOUT GIVING PASSES AT THE VERY RIGHT TIME..
--It doesn't matter how good your defense is, the opposition doesn't have any hard time about being extremely agile on 1on1s. A football game should be realistic, i totally agree, BUT it's nonsense to make the defending and tackling THIS DAMN HARD to achieve this realism!! This much difficulty on game mechanics decreases the playability greatly. I can NEVER feel that joy i had felt with the older versions anymore..
--Whichever tactic you apply your defense don't act as you want, they make great mistakes at the defending lines. Plus, it doesn't matter if you adjust full support on your attacking men, it doesn't work most of the time, if you want to make your player run behind the defense and always look for opportunities, get a Messi or something.. Your players just dancing with the defense while you are wandering around with the ball.. they don't run for through balls mostly.
--The cursor shifting problem is in 2013 too, and with improvement!! How nice! Try to change cursor while the opposition makes a pass to the empty space of your wing, you'll see that the cursor will be wandering around the other players who isn't associated with the position.. and there you go: a terrible goal position, you'll desperately watch the opposition player to advance towards your poor goalkeeper..
--The players' attributes are a real problem. For example: you can assume that a medium length pass from a player with 75 long pass accuracy is gonna have %50 chance of failure. But hell, this is PES 2013!! The players with a 80 pass accuracy cannot pass without giving the ball to the opposition. Lots of player abilities are unbalanced like this and don't reflect what was shown.
--ONE OF THE BIGGEST PROBLEMS is the magnificent(!) "Pass support" feature. Hell, i don't want this crap anymore on PES!! It's absolutely unbalanced, 2 bars is "helping" your passes to be interrupted by the opposition, even if you give the pass carefully. Make it 3 bars and when you press the upside button on your gamepad, it gives the ball to the man on the other wing (and sometimes "the man who is supposed to be there"). I want pass support to give the ball to the direction i want, like old PES versions! Simply, pass support takes passing directions as the players' position on your team's starting formation (i'm not even saying "the player's instant position on the pitch") regardless of the direction button you desperately hit.. I don't want pass support to give the ball to fixed positions, i want freedom you promised!!
--I'll never understand why the players leave the ball passing in front of them without interfering.. It isn't about how good your player is. Do i have to adjust my player's foot precisely to the millimetric position of the ball every time just to make him interfere?? This feature is new in PES2013 too!!! Enjoy!!
--If a goal is meant to be conceded, it will be conceded! Struggle as much as you want in defense, for the game is too(!) realistic, the opposition won't give the ball and with 2 attackers against 3-4 defenders they will just make perfect dribbles and with the help of the ball mechanics taken from a pinball machine, the ball will be between them and your goalkeeper in no time.. the perfect timing tackling maneuver you try to do will mostly be useless, because there will be too much pressure on you and you won't be able to pay attention properly to all of the realistic tactical tackling and marking moves provided by KONAMI.. The opposition somehow becomes extremely agile and slips through all your players while giving passes with perfect timing. Congratulations, you've had your goal.
--Tactical defending is somewhat good, but very hard to pay attention and had to maintain the pressure and positioning of your defense. If you don't like to apply these system into your gameplay and want to enjoy the game like the old times, here's what you'll encounter: At least 70 percent of the sliding tackles and pressing with the standard press button will be foul and these unfair whistles will come %80 with a yellow card. So DON'T PRESS, it'll become a foul, you'll get a nice yellow card..and maybe a red one.
--So the referees in this game are very cruel.
--A very important mistake is, while running back to defend from a counter attack, don't you dare to change cursor to have control of a nearer player while the opposition gives an important through pass, because as soon as you do that, the player may starts to run opposite direction from the ball, or another irrelevant direction. Until you let go of the direction buttons and stop your player for a second. But this time losses may cost you with a ridiculous goal. I want to make him run through the opposition with the ball, not to his original position in the team formation! Why doesn't the game allow me to do such a simple thing? I move wherever i want on the pitch! The people who liked the game should've liked the game, but this thing has no logical explanation.
While approaching to the conclusion, i want to tell you why most of these problems occur in the game.

To make the game more realistic, you put incredibly realistic movements to the game, but make the players move like retards. To make the game more realistic, you put massive amounts of button combinations in the game, make showdowns on internet and gaming expositions, make extreme amounts of advertisements, and expect the players to enjoy the game.. It's not that simple..
I AM NOT PLAYING SOME BLOODY MORTAL KOMBAT GAME!! IT IS PRO EVOLUTION SOCCER!!
How the hell am i supposed to memorize most of those move,feint and defending combos while in the heat of the game? Right in the action?
And here's the main problem: You make this game unplayable without these brain training methods..
AND i want to get your attention that the AI does all these movements,combos, all the things the game offers PERFECTLY.. yeah the "opposition" AI is cool..
After 2 weeks of agony, i realized that i won't be able to play the game without all these finger exercises.. But there is no fun when i struggle to memorize and use all the button combinations and get irritated by those absurdities i listed above. This game is meant to be both fun and easy to play, it must be a combination. A total realistic simulation football game cannot be fun.. when it get tiring levels it is not fun at all.. it is irritating. i find myself smashing alt+f4 after a couple of matches everytime i try to play..
My ultimate decision for the balance in PES series is: "MORE simulation, LESS fun" and "MORE arcade, MORE fun" !!!
So i give this game 4 out of 10..
