VGA 2011 Trailers

Broken links my friend; here's a full breakdown of most of the big reveals plus some commentary from me (i fully expect these trailers to be taken down during the next few days, Viacom seem to have sand in their vagina over it all)

The Last of Us: Naughty Dog making a post apocalyptic survival horror game? Could be very interesting. Running Zombies always scare the shit out of me and make me panic in games!!

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance :Fuck me, as soon as i saw some of the gameplay I thought"they've taken Metal Gear and made it with Bayonetta and Vanquish, then it turns out Platinum GAmes are developing it, so that makes sense. Not a hug fan of slash-em ups though.

Mass Effect 3: I have no idea what the fuck I just watched, but it makes me want to finally get round to playing ME 2. Looks like the reapers have invaded earth and literally everything is fighting back, including giant sand worms......

Hitman Absolution: Trailers still can't allay my fears that this will be a more shoot-em up style Hitman. I have hopes that it will feature the classic gameplay that we know and love though.

Rainbow 6 Patriots: Nice explosion

Bioshock Infinite: M'eh, not a Bioshock fan. Nice song though.

ALan Wake American Nightmare: Lol at the name "Mr Scratch" terrifying indeed.

SPider-man is for fags. Looks like Spider-man meets Shadow of The Colossus. If it's Open world it could be interesting...

Yeah noticed that after I posted but couldn't be bothered to change it due to it being so late.

Anyway ME3/The Last Of Us/RB6 Patriots all look really good games. Although TLOU is a PS3 exclusive so doubt I'll ever get the chance to play it :( was there any trailer for EPICs new IP, Fortnite?

EDIT: Just seen it, looks intresting. Kind of a Zombie/Defense game.

I can't see how a Tower Defence game could be a full retail product though, unless during the day there's an exploreable world where you scavenge products.

I'd assume it's an xbla/psn title.

edit - SO you just copy and paste my links into your first post i see. bastard ;)

The Last of Us looks like it could be great. Usually, with another zombie game you'd think "meh", but with Naughty Dog as the developer it has the potential to be awesome.

I'm not really an MGS fan, but I can see the appeal, however the trailer fo the new game looks shit. Looks like it could be a game that splits the hardcore fans of the series.

It's being marketed as a spin-off title, which is why they have free reign to change the gameplay and shit. This is not Metal Gear Solid 5, which will undoubtedly be helmed by Kojima.

That being said, I havent played and finished a Metal Gear titles since MGS 2. Could never get into 3 or 4. The Portable Ops titles were quite enjoyable though, never finished them mind.

If I were you, I wouldn't worry about Hitman Absolution being more action oriented. Why?
Because all the other Hitman titles started off with countless action trailers, then closer to their release dates, we get those stealth trailers. After all, Hitman is a free game. Absolution is no different and I am 100% sure that Absolution will have classic Hitman gameplay mixed with superb cinematics that others games sometimes lacked. Hitman is unique, and I doubt IO will ruin their best franchise.

The last of us is really interesting too. I like to see more.

It's funny how the best ps3 game is a ps3 exclusive, yet the best xbox game is not an xbox exclusive. :hmm:

It's also quite funny how a studio that only released one game in 2011, and that game is fundamentally broken in one of it's versions won "studio of the year"

Having played the final product i'm sure you are trustworthy enough to vouch for this.

You didn't even begin understanding my message. I WAS REFERRING TO HOW IO interactive release the trailers. Absolution will be no different in terms of trailers.
All action oriented trailers, then closer to release of the game, we get stealth trailers.

And I am more trustworthy than you think simply because I know every detail about Hitman and almost everything about Absolution so far. ;)

BTW IT'S EXTREMELY FUNNY THAT FORZA 4 WON DRIVING GAME OF THE YEAR, WHEN IT'S A RACING SIM.

And it's also funny how Dark souls didn't even get mentioned. It's funny how people rate these. It's all about the studio, not the quality of the game nowdays. I hate that. Just because Naughty dog or Bethesda Game Studios didn't release Dark souls, IT DOES NOT MEAN THAT IT'S BAD. INSTEAD IT GETS OVERLOOKED. I cannot stand that.

Assumption is the word I would use to describe what your are saying. I would be very happy if it retained the spirit of the original games, but as of right now there is no proof to say that it will be.

^You may say that, BUT IO and some other members on Hitman forum who work for IO have already confirmed that stealth will be the main part. I would take their word for it especially after considering that it's do or die for Hitman. Because developing a new game engine and spending that much money into it just to have it fail or miss expectations would just be stupid. So I have 100% faith in IO delivering on Absolution because so far, I can only see positives.

Ofcourse, we can worry, that happens with all games. Even I worry, but that's because I want the game to be great. But all in all, I am still 100% confident in Absolution. :)
