Looks epic but will probs end up being generic compared to Rockstars sand box games. Hope not though.

Good point. Repped!

EDIT; arrrgghh fuck off I just made a humongous post and refreshed the page by accident .
Main points of the deleted post
- I only have 4gb of RAM. The game minimum specs 6gb:eek:hmy::crymore:
-Can't bring myself to upgrade.
-Bitch, Moan at my 2009 mid range PC's inadequacies.

p.s
Seriously though Sweey I hate myself for asking this because it annoys me when others do but surely 4gb and 1gb GPU will run it at 1080p minus a few graphical features like every other damn PC game has done, right? Fucking PS3 has about 256mb RAM and it'll run on that. Towards the end of the PS4 cycle we are gonna be on bloody minimum RAM specs of about 60gb RAM:D
.
My RAM is DDR2 800mhz (jurassic now right?) but it hardly affects performance though does it RAM speed unless you are benching or going for high overclocks(or have things changed)? It's decent Corsair DDR2 RAM and runs pretty fast with the North Bridge overclocked.
Been totally out of the circle of PC news for the last few years but if I wanted to go with the cheapest upgrade it would be a new AMD 3 mobo, DDR3 RAM,using my current AMD 965 black edition CPU (AMD3 compatible) and a sweaty used GPU off eBay? My current mobo is only AMD2+ and DDR2 compatible.

My GPU is the bottleneck not my bloody RAM. FU Ubisoft with your demanding specs.

If I hear GTAV is due for PC it's all getting lavishly upgraded:lol:.

For 1080p on a single monitor, 1GB on the GPU is sufficient but you can potentially need up to 1.5GB or possibly - and don't quote me on it - 2GB depending on the textures. I'd generally say 1.5GB is enough in almost all cases though.

As for the RAM requirement, 4GB when 6GB is recommended may mean slower loading times or occasional slowdown in gameplay.

You have to remember that all PS3s have one set of fixed hardware. The same goes for a 360, PS4 and One. Development on all platforms is therefore automatically optimised. For a PC this is impossible so requirements are higher to compensate.

As for your RAM question, DDR3 is obviously better but the actual performance gain is incredibly difficult to quantify. The quantity of RAM is important and the GPU and CPU themselves are far more important.

Your cheapest upgrade might be an AMD processor - and lord knows we need them to stay in the market - but Intel K processors overclock very well.

If you were to upgrade, you would want a quad-core CPU running at 3Ghz or more (ideally 3.6+ but remember to buy a third-party heatsink if overclocking...and to make sure the processor you are getting can actually overclock), 8GB DDR3 RAM and a GPU with 2GB VRAM. This will necessitate a new PSU as well, in the region of 650W would be fine. You cannot buy the PSU without knowing what GPU you are going to buy. If you can find an AMD processor from the last year or so that will go into your existing motherboard and can get you 3.6Ghz+ without turning into a fireball, that will be your cheapest route.

My AMD 965 Black edition @3.8, Can squeeze 4 out of it for gaming because it's watercooled but fails proper stress tests after about half an hour, think it's my slow RAM that holds it back mainly because I need to overclock the North bridge (what overclocks the RAM) because after I use the multiplyer so much it keeps my CPU running at the highest speed and I like it to downclock because it's on so much and got to keep an eye on that electricity bill;). After 3.8 Ineed to overclock the North Bridge. It's alright for gaming the CPU and I've got a solid 650 Be Quiet PSU So they are adequate for the moment. It may not be the RAM and just haven't got the right voltage for the Northbridge.
I really need to take the plunge sometime and upgrade my bottlenecking hardware.

It is happening again
Looks very impressive indeed. Especially compared to the latest released trailers for next gen consoles, where it looks very current/past gen with regards to graphics.

I'm hoping the next gen releases look at least like high settings on PC, given that they've had an extra 6/7 months to work on the game.

Yeah, the game is finally looking like it's 2012 reveal trailer now.

The PS4/Xbox One will probably be equivalent to low settings on PC. I think I'll be able to pull off "very high" for this game if I end up getting it. 60FPS will be the most important thing though.

No way is that happening, have you seen the recent console trailers/visuals? You're looking at medium settings i'd imagine.

True, but we can't be sure what build those trailers are from as they never really clarify that. I'd expect it to look a bit better than those trailers.

True. An Ubisoft rep confirmed that this trailer

is from the most recent build and is running on PS4. It will look slightly inferior on Xbox One judging on other multiplatform titles. Still looks good though, but no Infamous SS/Ryse.

From what I know PS4 is 1080p, Xbox most likely 900p. As long as it's 60fps I don't really mind, although I'm not sure why they couldn't get it up to 1080p after an extra 6 months work.

Because getting something up to 1080p isn't easy, it's down to power, resources, memory etc. It's an increase in around 43% pixel count, and this jump is extremely taxing. So when you have a system that is a) somewhat underpowered and b) still relatively new so you don;t know the tricks/shortcuts to get the best out of it, it is an extremely difficult process.

ALso, im sure it's been reported both formats will run at 30fps.

Putting my pre order in for a PS4 copy at GAME this morning. Might go for the special edition.
