WE10 - Center backs not going up for corners?

Hey, how can we force central defenders to step in the penalty box of the opponent when we have a conner kick? I tried some ways but failed. This is very foolish. Could somebody help me?

Yeah, this was a flaw with Pes5. Your full backs go up instead of your CB's/ Stupid bug really.

The only way you can kinda get around it is by manually making your team attack minded. Wait a bit and some of your players will push up including one of your CB's making his way into the area. Shouldn't really have to do that but its a start.

This is also one of the things I have tried but it did not work. Can you imagine Beck taking a curling conner kick but Rio and Terry still stay calm in the other half. What a foolish! We should say smt to the WE10 development team.

I have not tried this but you could set one of either formation A or B to have you central defenders in attacking positions, then when you get a corner, or free kick near the box, having already selected the used formation as one of your stratergies, simply select it using R2 and whatever assigned button, and then possibly, just possibly your big CBs are on hand to send a header sailing in to the top corner!

That sounds like a brilliant idea.

hey, it works. Just press L2 + R1 like someone posted in hints and tips. Your attack bar will turn red and two more players including a CB will go into the are to be ready for heading from corner kick. The problem is why the other CB stays the same. I am really not happy with this. I like to have them all in the penalty box, so more chances to score from headers.

Your full backs... have you watched a football game?

Yep it works alright....this is what I noticed though in a standard 4-4-2 with the RM taking a corner from the left

Your forwards and a midfielder are placed in the box, your LM is the player that is closest to the corner (keeps running backward and forward) your full backs push up along side the remaining CM just outside the box, your CBs left in center circle. Changing this to full attack pushes your RB in to the box and aswell as your LCB the LB goes back in to center circle.

OK now then, a quick change of the formation A, changing your RB with your RCB means that you get both of your big CBs in to the box, and the FBs defend, which is nice because they are usually faster and therefore better to prevent the counter.

Found this out in training, just did a replay straight after kicking the ball to check out where each player was positioned.

PS you have to wait a few seconds after changing the formation for them to actually move in to there new positions obviously.

Why does WE 10 have little problems like that!? That just sucks. But still the best game in the whole wide world.

lol who would depend on their full backs for that? They're hardly the best at defending. So what ur telling me is that Rio + Silvestre, Thuram + Cannavaro, Terry + Carvalho, both of them go up for corners every single time? How come I don't see this unless trailing in the final minutes? cuz its much easier for Shevchenko + Gilardino + Kaka to work their way around someone other than Thuram. CB's priority is to defend ok.

No mate, at least one of the CBs goes up for a corner always have done, and unless heading gets banned from the game, always will! In the final minutes its your keeper that also goes up, I recall your great dane doing it more than a few times.

Right I must apologize. My fault for not paying enough attention to players in the box, so I often don't notice the 2nd CB.

But you really pull this off and the ball doesn't go in, wouldn't you be very vulnerable to a fast break?

Not really, better equiped I would say as you have your two FBs defending which are usually a lot faster than the CBs so as long as you don't dive in and just jockey them to a corner you will be all right.
