I think the people experiencing the most severe cases of slowdown are the ones that have illegal burns of it. the sources coming out of EVO WEb are not disclsoing that they in fact have the original dvd. there's been said that the original dvd might have some sort of write protection which cause the game to not play AS smoothly if you had the original. i hate all the posts about the slowdown now. it's amazing. people are now all off to by a HDLoader and sh*t. :rolleyes: what the heck go off and buy the original game1 from the few two with the original they've said it ONLY slows down during opening cut scenes and corner kicks but is very slight. I can see these remarks being deterents from people getting the game and waiting til PES4. it seems like that's the case anyway. this is a rant but damn if i'mm let these people knock the game. it's simple if you don't pay for it you can complain ALL the way about it.

when WE7 came out, people who had burned copies of the game (myself included) experienced the 'stutter bug'. This bascally meant that the game jumped every few seconds. This was thought to be caused by the quality of disc the game was burned on and also the speed at which the disc was burned. I bought myself a higher quality CD and reduced the speed to 4 and this caused the bug to be drastically reduced. This could be why there is slowdown occuring on burned copies of WE8.

Yeah, I'm interested in this as well. Some dude with the original game from HK said he only gets slowdown during cutscenes and conrner kicks - like you said.

I would love that to be true. I didn't pay over $70 for nothing. And I hope all those who d/l it for free, burn in hell. :D

I think everyone has the slowdown problem in WE8.
People who burnt on 2x have it too.

We should experiment with Camera types.
Definitely a problem on the Wide/Far view with corners and crosses going into the box. Even when there aren't that many players in there (on crosses).

Yes camera angles crowd control and certain stadiums should be tries out. It just really urks me when people start saying the game is hopeless. Ohh and about half the people that said they had problems DID infact have a burned copy. Which proves my point all that much more.

Are they able to make slow down corrections for release of PES4, ie: has it happened before with previous versions of the games ?

PES4 might or might not be better. they can correct such issues though if people complain enough which is fair enough, but overall this games getting a bad wrap now. you know what should get a bad wra? the fact that KONAMI doesn't put the game on the GameCube or Xbox(well they will,but it'll prob still have slowdown because the Xbox doesn't ever convert well from PS@ or GC titles). it's because of konami's stupid decision to go with the PS2 hardware. All i can say is PS3 is going to much much better and might show us a jooyuos experience like we've never seen. but still i don't know.

Well, you don't just drop a 1,500,000 of copies sold because of a slow-down problem.

I can bet the slowdown can and will be fixed in the ps2 version, in pes4.

Hell, I can even bet WE9 will still be on PS2 and people will be complainin why... here's why: 2,000,000 copies sold every year (regular + int vers). :D :p

KONAMI's established a HUGE fan base among the PS2 users and will not stop develing WE's for PS2 until PS3 is out. :)

i have downloaded the ripdvd version, i have already orderd the original one but how am i suppose to open this file called m-we8rip.001????

Jumbo that's a given(obvious) but still Konami could do far worse then putting it on the Gc again.

There's slowdown on original disk. Just received the disk this morning, and there is a slowdown on corner kick, entry scene and whenever there are lots of players on the screen including ref. Also noticed slowdowns after some goalkicks and freekicks. It is not a stutter like in PES3, but a slowdown of overall game. It looks like a PS2 is working 110% during those scenes and simply can't handle it. I tried plying with the camera angles as well and happens always whenever there are many players on the pitch. After playing few matches, it is different, both good and bit disappointing experience overall, especially with this slowdowns. Or maybe I expected too much from it. However, it gives us a bit of a entertainment until PES4/PES X come out, which hopefully will be better than WE for the first time in the series...

has anyone changed the settings to reduce the slowdown and had some success. i woul d hate empty stands. what about turning commentry off?

I have slowdowns when I play with zoom, not the default wide camera. With the default one no problems.
