What am I doing wrong???

I've played well over 100 games online U.S. and it seems like every time someone connects on a through ball I can't catch up to their player, meanwhile when I'm in the same position they effortlessly catch up to me and knock the ball away. Doesn't matter who I am, Bale, Lennon, Rooney, even Messi and Ronaldo same result every time.

To make matters worse, when I'm on defense I can't pressure anyone I've tried preset tactics pressue max defensive line max nothing, however my opponent is stuck to me like glue. As far as I'm concerned, we're all pressing the same buttons, but then again I haven't played online since pes 6 perhaps there is a new button combo that gives you super speed. I've tried the pressure button, I've tried pressure button combined with the special button still failing miserably.

In any event, I've searched the forums and have found nothing on this extra speed and defensive pressure tactic. I would appreciate an advice.

On defense try holding down the button the keeps you sqaure to the attacker only. Stay goalside and press the pressure button when you get close to them. It takes time getting use to, but i have gotten pretty good on defense after a few games of doing this. Defending this year is different. You need to hold up play on defense.
