What controls the First Touch?

My characters attributes are all over or close to over 80 now. Other than Defense, Teamwork, and Response. (Response doesnt seem to want to raise...)

But when I receive a pass or intercept the ball, my first touch is still ugly as hell.
I lose the ball well over half the time because my first touch is so bad that it puts the ball right in the hands of the nearest defender...

Not to mention on corners and set pieces if the ball hits me, I rarely head it or kick it, it always either bounces off my chest or i touch it with my foot before taking a dig...

Can someone tell me what attribute controls this please so I can work it up???

I dont think there is a contol on if your stats get better my stats are in the 80s and still have a bad touch normally its chest control which can be alright but them awful i think if the stats in the the late 90s then they would improve.

Technique, response, maybe even dribble accuracy if you're trying to take it down on the move. Also, make sure you're not holding down sprint when you receive the ball, and try the "R" trigger for close control.
