what does post player, lines, middle shooting etc mean

It means a player is able to do those thing better than players without stars.

A brief description of what each ability means scrolls across the bottom of the screen when you highlight an ability.

By the way...to enable a star, just highlight the one you want to add and click Right on the D-Pad.

Ow...I though you had already discovered the Edit menu :\
Just go to Edit...then Edit Player - Club Teams - Chelsea - Ballack - Special Abilities.
And that's where you can see a brief description as tom said.

It does make sense...

POST PLAYER: Means they are good on corners at arriving at the front post or back post etc.

LINES: Good at making runs judging the offside trap

MIDDLESHOOTING: Can shoot from futher away with greater accuracy(sidefoot another words)

I thought that post player meant somebody who can hold the ball up well, like crouch. Gettin to the front post is positioning.
Lines are when sumbody is good at stayin onside, or playin sumbody offside i think.
middle shootin is like gerrard, scoring for fun from 40 yards out.

Post Player now means that the player holds the ball up well.
