when you use the gamepad do you use the D-pad or the analog?

I just wanted to know if you pepole when you play in the pc with a gamepad or in the ps2 or xbox do you use the analog stick or the D-pad (direction buttons) for moving the player over the field?

The analog. I find it much smoother and easier on the thumb.

D-pad, has more control I think, analog tends to slip into the wrong direction.

was using the d-pad in playstation2, but switch to analog on pc, because of crap 'round d-pad' on my gamepad. i think ps2 controllers are the best in the sensitivity thingy and the 'plus/cross d-pad' which allows you to do more control and it's easier to make the players run straight. i used to hate the analog though, because it has a strong recoil, and ruin my games.

sum things are easy to do so i advise you to switch
e.g side stepping is eady with d-pad it might just be for me though

I prefer d-pad as it's a lot more responsive, at least with my fingers. (naturally it's quicker and easier to just hit different buttons on a d-pad then move around an analog stick to estimated positions)
