Forget PES 2008 on PS3/360, Wii is the first next-gen PES offering

IGN UK had had some good play time with Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 for the Nintendo Wii and have given it a glowing preview. They indicate that once you get your head around the controls, the disappointment of PES 2008 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions (even though they rated the PS3 version very highly previously) can be forgotten as PES 2008 on the Wii is the first truly next-generation offering from the much loved soccer series.

Oh are you referring to the same IGN that are sponsored in the PS3 and Xbox versions and that gave the aforementioned versions a 90 odd score?

Hmm lets be a little smarter before we rush out and buy these things gentlemen/ladies.

Check out youtube. If you search under PES Wii you will find the promo video showing the game and controls.

Looks pants graphics-wise and the controls are stupidly difficult (as they look anyway) but should be a great addition to the genre.

Tbh i'm really excited by it and should at least make online play a bit more cerebral rather than just hoofing and dribbling you will be forced to pass to break down defences. Shocking i know, sounds superb to me given the massive disappointment of PS3 version i own.
