Will PES2010 actually be any good?

First of all, I would like to thank the PES development team for enabling the use of this forum as a means through which the fans can voice their oponions about the game in order to improve it. This has been an important step and is one that has been a long time in coming.

However, my biggest fear is that despite all of the suggestions voiced in the forum, PES2010 will still be a dissappointment. As a long time fan I have learned the hard way that when expecting an installment of PES its important to look through the marketing language used to describe the game and focus on the game itself.

Examples are there for everyone to see, pick up the cd cover of pes2009 and the back reads "Incredibly realistic ball physics". Ironic when I have countless replays of the ball going through players chests/head for goals. Another example being the "Radically Improved" phrase being used to describe the horrible, unreliable and unsatisfying online mode.

When one considers that the game itself is currently under development and is probably nearing completion then it is hard to see how any of the feedback being provided though valid will make it into PES2010. Consider also that a press-release of the new game has already been released detailing the games achievements and how it plays and already im worried. I think we will only see significant imporvements of the game in PES2011. For now I am a fan who has lost faith and believes Konami has been out of touch with its fans and the development of football simulations altogether.

I think your a bit harsh here. The way the ball moves is better is bounces more realistically and I do feel that that was worked on the results can be seen in the game. Now you say about the online play. To be honest 2009 was a much better experience compared to 2008. The online feature of 2008 was horrendous and you couldn't play a game with any hope of a fair game. 2009 has improved though there are many cheets online and they exploit the flaws in the game online, so its not where it should be but it is a step up from 2008 even though its still not perfect...
As for the forums I am not sure what will be changed and what won't. I think there has been feedback and changed probably during the development of the game but its just the way they go about getting feedback and how much they get appears to have changed. This I think is a positive. I think Konami is moving in the right direction and you might be suprised at what 2010 is like. I am sure it won't be all totally perfect but I am hoping it will be a really great game again.

I think the ball physics in 2009 are fine. I also dont see how you can be worried about a game when all we have seen is screens. might I add the images that have been released look amazing. Master league is gonna be great no doubt about that but we haven't seen any game play whatsoever. I look at it as a plus that this forum exists and that Konami will take the time to read through it and see how the fans feel.

I agree, this post is too harsh. If we want a good open relationship with Konami we have to stick to positive/constructive criticism.

I believe there will definitely be one or two suggestions from this forum - or one of the other sites contributing - that make it into this year's game. There are what, 5 months left??!?! It surely won't be major things, but little things that are easy to implement will surely be included. Konami wouldn't have gone to this extent without alloting some time in the dev schedule for implementing what is probably a set quota of fan suggestions (say 3 or so). There's plenty of time to do this yet, I just hope we've gotten across enough of the types of ideas they need to hear in order to have something contructive to work with.

Simple, positive, easy to implement, effective, well thought out and presented ideas. These are what we need from our posts, not complaints about marketing.

I hear what you are all saying and perhaps this post is a bit harsh. However, its hard not to be frustrated with Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 when you know that so much potential for a good gaming experience is being wasted. This is NOT a complaint about Marketing..but getting excited over Press-releases, Screenshots and feedback is not something I'm into.

With regards to the online mode, I challenge anyone with an XBOX360 to buy PES6 and try the online mode on that version of the game. With a decent connection the gaming experience is soo much better than in any of the versions of the game released afterwards. Konami got it spot on for the most part and the gameplay was fulfilling. Forward to PES2008 and the online was disappointing..then to PES2009 and I hope you can see why there is frustration! With every installment of the game we expect improvement but the online - so far - for me has never reached the level it did on PES6. I promise you play the online mode on PES6 and you will be blown away at how much better it is...so why has this not carried forward to PES2009?

As for the forum...to be honest with you, A LOT of the feedback I have seen on here is the same feedback that has been voiced by fans for quite some time! Though it may NOT be the case, it is almost as if they have only NOW (after FIFA has stepped up their game) have they started to listen to the fans! But you know what I'll take a step back..and admit Mud slinging isnt going to get anybody anywhere.
