Wish list for PES5

I have taken the liberty to write down a wish list for the forthcoming PES5 game. Most concern the Master League mode, which is my favored game mode.

1) More teams - More teams from each national league-system (e.g. Championship teams from England) so that when you start a Master League, you don't have to toss in teams from other nationalities. If not more teams, the at least more "fake" teams (such as the WEU or whatever they are called), so that one can edit them according to what national league one wish to play in. I also wish they could toss in more leagues in the ML-mode, since there are full Eng+It+Fr+Ger+Spa+Neth leagues in the game.

2) Correct ages - Several players, especially South American, had severely wrong ages in PES4. When I changed them, the changes didn't carry into the Master League, even if I started a new one. If they can't be arsed to have correct ages, then at least let the changes in edit mode count in the Master League as well.

3) Better editing - Editing, especially regarding shirts, needs to be improved. But I guess we've been promised this already.

4) Player development - I enjoyed this very much, especially searching for the best young talent, but some of it is out-and-out wrong. How can a 30 year old stay level until retiremen, when a talented 24 year old (in this case Ash. Cole) loses up to 3 ability-points a season!!! This needs some fine tuning.

5) Retired players - I wish there was some way they could introduce new (made up is fine, since there were a few in PES4 anyway) players, instead of re-entering younger versions of the retired players. It f***s up the reality of the game (which only exists in my messed up mind anyway).

6) Mid-season training - Fun enough, but too time consuming. It's great for regaining abilities of your older players, but I wish there was some way they could get the computer to do it, and you would only have to appoint each player to a specific training session. Success would e.g. depend on preset abilities and success in matches.

7) Player rating - I very much liked this when it was introduced in PES3 (or was it PES2). But there are several flaws in PES4. If your central midfielder dominates a game, attempts close to 20 passes with up to 80% accuracy and an assist to boot, he'll almost never get a better rating than 6,5!!! I also wish they would re-introduce the tackling-/interception stats, so that you can understand why your center back recieved a 7 rating.

8) Assists - If a player recieves the ball, makes more than two touches and scores, the player who passed the ball won't get the assist!!! In my opinion, if a player creates a goal, an assist should be awarded. Of course, a line has to be drawn somewhere, but at two touches??!!

9) Passing - I find that players more often than not use the outside of their foot when they make a pass. It looks a bit silly, but I enjoy the "option". Reverse it, and it'll be fine.

10) Long shots vs. keepers - Shots from range are improved from previous versions, and I have scored some crackers. But sometimes the keeper doesn't go for the ball when a shot comes towards the goal. It is highly irritating when it's your goalie, just silly when it's not. Also, when a player faces the goal at an akward angle, instead of using his weaker foot, the player seems to slide on his standing foot and makes a shot that, to me, looks stupid (Not the best description of the scenario, but I'm sure you've experienced it). Please make an effort to correct this.

11) Player movement- Still some work to be done on the movement of your fellow players on the pitch, e.g. when you move a ball up the pitch, players rarely go for runs in front.

There may be other stuff as well, but this is all I can think of for now. If some of you wan't to show this list to Konami (yeah, right) feel free to do so.

Oh yeah,

Just this:

A) More liscenced leagues would be great. I enjoy editing, but I'm getting older, and this takes time.

B) Make an effort to avoid "doubles", that is players there are more than one of in the game. E.g. most German and Netherland nationals were also in their respective club teams, but these were "different" players. (Same same, but different).

More Ideas

Nice ideas, also all kits should be fully correct with full badges and sponsors for all teams in all leagues including the championship and lower divisions (the one thing FIFA 2005 wins on). I dunno if any else agrees but most of the pitches in PES4 looked a bit too dark and dingy, games would look alot better on bright vivid pitches and on ones with neatly cut grass. Its the little things like that make the difference. All the other improvements were mentioned in the other posts.
