Wolf 3.25 Patch Trouble...

Hey all.

I have been getting an error message as soon as PES4 loads, after installing the latest Furry Evolution patch. I have the 1.10 PES4 Konami patch, and I downloaded the full 722MB Wolf patch.

I have tried uninstalling/re-installing Pro Evo 4 but still no joy. After replacing the files in the Wolf patch one by one, it's the 0_text.afs file that causes the error message, unsurprisingly perhaps.

I tried 3D analyser, checking the various force sw tnl etc. boxes that someone recommended on another thread, but this just crashes too. The error message doesn't come up, because the game doesn't load in the first place....it seems like 3D analyser is crashing. In any case, I don't think it is the new football models that cause it because I've got a decent PC with a Radeon 9800 Pro (should be able to cope with some TnL).

Has anyone got any ideas? I notice that after this patch, the main title screen says Winning Eleven 8 International, not Pro Evolution Soccer 4. I thought that these were just two names for the same game... but obviously not. The option file for WE8I doesn't work, I need to use the PES4 option file.
Is there a specific version of Wolf's 3.25 patch for Pro Evo 4 and not WE8I? Or maybe just a single file I need to replace, such as the PES4.exe (which is bringing up the error message).

How u doin? Firstly im not going to lie to you, im not the best person to give you any answers, but i find when somebody replies other people will follow suit. (fingers crost!)
Ive read alot about the 0_text.afs file causing alot of prob, im yet to find an answer to it other than using 3d Analizer. Its very interesting to read that people who are posting this problem nearly allways have a Raedon 9800 graphics card.
PES4 would crash for me every time i had to increase the reserved space for importing various files in the .afs file, i too used 3d Analizer to no avail and guess what graphics card i have?............................Yep! you guessed it a Raedon 9800!!!
This really pissed me off, my advice would be to take it on the chin that your 700meg patch is no good for you and download the latest patch. goto filefront.com, where the 'search for' bar is located type in 'wolf 2005 evolution patch' and start downloading the 7 parts. Its a bitch but trust me it is well worth it. My only problem with it is that the crowd chants can get very repetitive, but even still thats a minor criticism. Its the latest patch out there which means you dont have to fuk around much with editing the .afs file. The only thing youd prob want to edit would be some grass textures for some of the stadiums, i think off memory the anfield pitch is still pretty poor, and even though im an evertonian and this goes against every bone in my body i set the anfield pitch as evertons home ground, so the grass texture is very important.
In short download the latest patch, hope this helps in some way!

And also you are right WE8I is different from PES4, i think u just got the wrong patch.

I'll try downloading the PES4 2005 patch from Filefront. Hopefully that will work. Because I dont think the Radeon 9800 Pro should have any specific problems....it's an awesome card and I didn't have any trouble with it before the patch. Besides, it can handle fancy TnL in other games. Cheers for your help.

And when you say 7 parts, do u mean download all 7 and then extract the first one? Thats wot i did but it still doesnt work! I too have Radeon 9800 Pro, and I never had problems b4. any help appreciated thanks.
