Won't PES3 be a let down after all this?

I'm all for patching WE:fe with the latest patches (as long as the original copy was bought through proper channels!) and I was considering 'chipping' my station just to be able to play this game, but then it struck me.

The release of PES3 will be a bit of an anti-climax if WE:fe is as good as everybody is saying it is. PES3 will undoubtedly have crap music, no license and therefore wrongly spelt and mispronounced player names and after playing the 'licensed' WE:fe with Champions League music and real ad-boards and so on I feel that the novelty of a new PES will be slightly tarnished.

Is it possible to patch a DVD game if you have a DVD burner? I have a DVD burner so I was just wondering. If so, how? I'm just getting ready for patching PES3, that's all!!

I still can't wait for PES3. If it's only as good as WE:fe then I'll be over the moon.:D

PES2 came out in November and there ain't much for it yet with regards to patches so I'm assuming there won't be many for PES3 either. It will probably continue with WE7.
It just seems a whole lot easier to patch the Jap CD games.

If the commentary in PES was amazing, maybe that would make more people think about doing it for PES too.

Mumpleaser, it is possible to convert the PES2 DVD format to CDR in order to patch in a similar way to we6fe. HERE

PES3 should be better then PES2, but then there is WE7. And if you are going to make your ps2 capable of playing your backups you might as well get the superior game we6fe (presently).

Are there any good patches for PES2 or is putting it on CD a waste of time and CDs?
Ok, maybe not a complete waste as you gain the knowledge but otherwise...

Yes it does work, I have both PES2 and WE6I on cdr format.

Zygalski, you are bang on the money, it's a waste as no patches have been released. But yes the knowledge gained is pretty useful ;)

How do I convert the PES2 from DVD to CD format. I have WE6I, but from what I've seen and heard its the same as PES2.

Charly, if you look at Mike's first post above and click on where it says HERE, then it will take you to somewhere with instructions on how to sort it out.

Not sure that it'll work with WE6I though. Only PES2.

Yeah WE6I is pretty much like PES2. You can use that method but you need a change a few key numbers.

As, most of the tournaments around are based on PES it'll be good to have some experience with that, for me anyway.
