Mate of mine told me about this a few weeks ago and I meant to post it. Anyways from what I've seen I'm impressed. Not getting my hopes up too much but I got the feeling this might be the next No Mercy.

Man, I haven't played a wrestling game for years. This looks like it could be good for a life, but probably only for a short while.

I haven't myself, the main reason been that they're all shit. It's very hard to put into words why they are so shit but for me this new game looks solid. Solid as in chunky and doesn't have that "slap slap jab kick kick punch" rubbish going on. This looks more like No Mercy where you got to pick your shots or else you're getting countered, in a nutshell it doesn't look headless.

I wouldn't expect anything near to No Mercy. It's developed by THQ San Diego (different to Smackdown vs Raw who are developed by Yukes), so they will at least be different gameplay. Kind of expect a similar game to TNA iMPACT! which wasn't very good at all.

Yeah, that is very reminiscent of No Mercy. What they have to try to do is try to deliver a fun game, even if they have to sacrifice realism. Leave the realism to Smackdown vs Raw stuff.

I've never understood why they don't just use the No Mercy system. It was easily playable (even against the AI). Add in the new guys and new match types, use the same system with a few tweaks and everyone wins.

I actually want them to loose the realism, and I'm very excited about this game! I haven't watched wrestling in years, and haven't played a wrestling game in years...basically because genuine superstars like Rock and Stone Cold left.

Probably one of the most fun WWF (back then) games was WWF on the arcade...that wasn't realistic, it was just fun! That is what WWE is all about, entertainment, not realism...it's not a real sport, it's an entertainment business. I don't want to play realistic wrestling games, I want to play fun, over the top and exciting wrestling games!

Plus the Rock and probably Stone Cold will feature in this game, unless something very obvious is off in the game I'll definitely get this!

Looks bollocks, but I'm hearing that between this and Savage's recent figure a Hall of Fame induction and appearance on WWE TV might not be so implausible. We live in hope.

They have to save him as a big name to headline another (hopefully next) year.

Yeah Rey really exploded on the WWE scene in the mid-90s. Are we forgetting ECW and WCW existed now?

Mysterio is part of the current wrestlers side, not legends.

I don't think this game is aimed at hardcore wrestling fans wanting to see a multi-brand roster. Just a fighting game for anyone to play.

The legend roster is great, too bad there aren't more of them and less current guys. I don't think anybody cares about the possibility of having Jack Swagger face Slaughter.
