hi, seems lately i'm asking for advice a lot but i'm getting confused with this internet account malarkey. i just tried my xbox on live at our kids, he's on virgin media.

i plugged the connection cable i got with my 360 into the back of it but there wasn't room to put the other end in his computer or modem thingy. i took his plug out of his computer so the wire which came out of the wall went into his modem then the one that was in his comp from the modem now went from the modem into my 360.

i failed the connection test because of the ip address. we found his on his pc but after entering it into my 360 we still failed.

any advice or help in getting connected would be really apreciated. also if you know about the ip address i could use some pointers on where i get the one i need from.

just found out. i need to power down the lot, connect the wires and then turn the modem on followed by the xbox.

another question tho, if i use the update will it affect the players i have created in other leagues B. i'd be mighty pissed if i lost all the players i've been creating.
