There's been alot of criticism and pessimism surrounding the release of PES10. What little news there has been has been subject to intense scrutiny and negatvity, and in fairness alot of it justified.
Now there seems to be some genuinely good news confirmed for PES 2010 I'd like to know has the optimisim returned? How many of you out there were considering Fifa 10 as a viable option this time round? Has the latest news changed anything for you?
I notice there has been no real news surrounding the online playability - it's still very high on the agenda and if Konami roll out another lagtastic experience it will severly damage their credibility. How many of you are still unconvinced despite the first clear nod of genuine gameplay improvements?

What say you?

After I the rumour that 360 dribbling was only on PS3, I started to consider getting FIFA instead or getting PES at a later date, something I never wouldve considered a few years ago as I've had every PES, but now I'm defo getting PES as with 360 dribbling confirmed on the xbox and amazing graphics and no more cardboard crowd ill buy PES 2010 now.

Chuffed to bits pes2010 will put konami back on the map with fluid player control and a much needed dimension to the gameplay.

I bet dave ruttler of ea feels like the bottom of his world has fallen out.

No doubt about it pes09 was more enjoyable then fifa09 and now with 360 movement and the tactics slider and card system pes2010 will be mind blowing!!!!!!

The only thing is the endless wait for release which cant come soon enough....hopefully its finished and they go head to head with fifa on the 2 of october...

I'm really happy with the previews I've read so far :)

Sounds like the game has many new animations, has been slowed down, looks great and has a great new look ML!

I'm still not getting too excited till I see a proper review though and play the game myself. It seems that previews are always very positive about the game and the writer only writes the negatives once they review the game.

For the first time in a long time im actualy pleased, there actualy trying this year after slowly loosing intrest over the past few years.

I was just exspecting another game with tweaks. Im thrilled with the 360 dribbling, manual keepers, new peno system, and the online tournaments:D

Just pray to god theyv sorted the lag out for good.

See if you put a gigantic list of everything that they have improved/ put in, I think it has the chemistry to be the best PES ever. Anyone agree?

Well i have to be honest and say that i was one of the justified negative people when it came to the future of PES games after the last couple of instalments and the over cooked improvements Konami fed us in the pre-release to those games.
Now with all these reported improvements (hopefully all 100% accurate) i am feeling much more up beat about PES2010. I think Konami could really get back on track this time around, and if its gonna be as improved as they make out then i believe almost all PES fans will be happy to restore their faith in the PES series and give Konami a clean slate which can only be a good thing for Konami and the fans alike.

every year i'm always excited but tbh i'm not reallllly excited yet. The past 2 years has taught me not to get my hopes up but either way i'll be buying the game.

The proof's in the pudding and Gamescom will no doubt shed further light and opinion on what's been revealed today but this finally sounds like a genuine step forward for the series if you look at the individual improvements. If they've been executed well (penalty system sounds like it will take a bit of getting used to...) then yes this could be the PES title people have been asking for ever since the series went next-gen.

Yes definately mate, everybody was asking for 360 movement, but werent expecting it, and them bamm..... its in, I actually believe Konami that they have been listening to our views.

Nothing matters unless online play works properly. I buy this game every year and it sits on my shelf collecting dust. I only have one friend thats decent enough to play against locally. I hate playing against the computer I want to beat real people.

I dont care about anything else but online play. If the dont fix it this year soccer games are dead to me. They have lost so many fans to fifa for this reason. I dont even remeber how to play this game. 3 years it has been since i played a decent online match.

The longer this goes on the closer we get to the end of pro evo.

^Come one man. Online only??? It's important yes, but the online is not the core game. That matters the most because even online uses the core game's gameplay and graphics.
As for the game. It's really looking awesome. It seems that my waiting and seeing things before commenting really worked. I was right not to judge from the begining.
Pes 2010 improved alot even as a pes game because I have never witnessed a pes game that has all so many new features.

i have to agree with this guy, i am quite lucky that alot of mates play aswell as all my housemates but still.....online is the most important factor in determing this games success, dont get me wrong, i will buy it regardless but i hope to god they sort it out!!! So in response to the thread, all the improvements look fantastic, but am hopeing for some news on the new online system, i guess the annoying thing is that untill they have 10's of thousands of people on their servers, they can never really test it??? ...........

online will be good this year to,konami are also working hard on getting that right,i doubt it will ever be totally lag free all the time(what is?) but im sure it will be better then the last two years and more like pes6 on xboxlive.

Lets take the positives, which there are many plus the ign preview which talks about important things like playability and enjoyment plus fluid and organic football....

The 360 thing is massive plus all the other changes like NO invisible walls on throw ins and underarm goalkeeper throws..........let us also not forget the tactical slider and card system massive changes in one year.

Cheers bud, yeah i had seen them, all looks alot better than 08/09 but all i want to know is how smoothly it runs. In fairness to the above post, your right, lag will always exsist, but ive heard about Fifa's online system (never played it) and just hope it runs as smoothly as that apparently does! I am however keen to find out about the CO-OP Tournament, sounds like it could be 2v2 from the same console, i hope so anyway!!
