After reading: Didn't think about manager games, lol. Can remember Microprose soccer, wasn't too shabby like and also other classic games of note I remember are Emlyn Hughes International Soccer and Matchday I & II on the Spectrum and C64.

Do you guys still think PES 10 will be the "return of the king"?:no:
sadly, the videos revealed Konami has a long way to go. Better graphics, but physics are questionable and the movements are still robotic. Gameplay wise, it is still PES 09ish. Very disapointing.
Edit options are sorely lacking too. No snow? No low socks? No neck warmers? No kits getting wet or pitches muddied? no more options for kits?

pes 10 was hyped up like crazy by those idiots at WENB, and now they look very very silly. Fifa 10 meanwhile is eerily getting closer and closer to the real game except they don't have Holland...

I dont think it will but as I said earlier (I think in another thread), that it wil be a stepping stone/ building block whatever you choose, for future PES'S so dont expect a megatron game (also as I said earlier).

Neck warmers and low socks are moot points. The gameplays videos look fantastic, ML has been given an overhaul and you havent played the game yet to compare it to 2009. I think Konami have done a lot to improve this years version from 2009. From what I've read from reports the edit mode is supposed to be a step up from 2009 as well. Home made kits are supposed to stand up to the licensed ones. In fact the 2009 edit mode is great in my opinion believe me I've created teams and hundreds of players thanks to the edit mode.

^True. And please to all of you, the difference between pes 09 first videos and these is pretty notable. But final judgement will be when the demo is released or when we play the full game.

Nothing matters unless online play works properly. I buy this game every year and it sits on my shelf collecting dust. I only have one friend thats decent enough to play against locally. I hate playing against the computer I want to beat real people.

I dont care about anything else but online play. If the dont fix it this year soccer games are dead to me. They have lost so many fans to fifa for this reason. I dont even remeber how to play this game. 3 years it has been since i played a decent online match.

The longer this goes on the closer we get to the end of pro evo.

To be honest, the majority of games that you do win on fifa 09 online, the other player instantly quits so you don't get the win anyway.

To be honest, I'll be happy with PES 2010 IF...

a) 360 degree control works properly and allows me to actually play through balls, long aerial balls and ground passes exactly where I want them.

b) The graphics look like they do in the Gamescom preview, in which they're rather great-looking.

c) The passing isn't as shitty as it was in PES '09, which almost ruins the game.

d) Players don't have so much trouble controlling the ball and it's not extremely hard to take the ball away from opposition players.

e) Animations are sorted out and player's don't move so robotically and can't make a 90 degree turn on a dime.

That's about it.
