Far Cry 3

I got pretty far with basic weapons and kit because I can't find a bloody pig despite killing Crocs and other rarer animals. I think it's made it more exciting because it's a bit more tougher and you've got to be careful when traveling to not get spotted. I do think that they should've kept the little radar thing from far cry 2 where it'd bleep faster when you were near diamands rather than showing you where all the loot is. I'm still in two minds though if removing jamming weapons was a good or bad thing. It was a nice touch of realism but did get annoying.

Yeah - I really want to take my time with this (I've only played for about 2 hours) exploring the jungle is pretty awesome though. I was wearing a headset and I could hear this god awful noise and I knew it was an animal but didn't know what or where it was. Jumped out of my seat when I was attacked by a snake lol, fought the fucker off and knifed it to death.

One thing that's annoyed me so far is I killed 2 goats to skin then, I killed 2 because I knew they run off and I wanted the skin but after I skinned the first goat the second disappeared. Rather annoying really.

One bit that made me question the story is one minute the character is afraid to sneak past guards the next he's running through the jungle mowing people down lol. I think this is what makes me want to take the sneaky route..Makes the game more realistic imo.

I've got a free evening tonight so look forward to playing a bit more.

I've not had that problem yet but the smaller animals can be a pain in the arse to locate after killing a herd and then trying to locae them all for their skin. Dogs are the worse.

I put it on before for a quick go, ended up over two hours on it. "Just liberate one more town" " Just climb one more tower""hunt one more shark":D
Getting really addicted to it especially now I've got some more fun weapons, better health bar and new skills.

This a bit like Fallout 3? Loved playing that game a couple of years ago :), roaming around the wasteland and just killing time exploring and bumping into wild animals and fighting them off etc. etc.

Put mines around the alarm after disabling it at enemy camps and watch the hilarity when they all go and try to turn it on after they spot you:joel:

I've just done the mission where you have to blow up the weapons stock pile. I snuck in, disabled the alarm and set all my claymores around the alarm point. The guards started to go mental as they saw me, I jumped and hid on a roof only to find that it was a tiger that had entered the camp and was clearing out all the pirates  When all the pirates were dead I jumped down to deal with the tiger. It started to run towards me when boooooom! Blew up on one of my claymores  Was fucking hilarious!

Must've put in at least 12 hours into this game and still not reached the second Island yet. Got all the crafted equipment now apart from a few what can only be gained doing the hunter missions plus all the weapons are free now. I thought they'd get repetitive the hunter missions but they have a nice variety to them. Same with the camps, always seem very different.

I really should play this more...

I had an epic fight with a bear the other night but he was no match from my c4...I blew his ass off the top of the hill

Had a couple of awesome moments yesterday, not sure if they were scripted or not.

First one was when I discovered a cave by a river. It was dark and the water was murky, as I entered it a fucking crocodile came from nowhere and attacked me! Scared the living shit out of me, I tell ye!

Another was when I was about to liberate a base. I was doing a little scouting of the area to try and find a good vantage point. As I was doing this, I noticed another set of bandits over the hill near a marsh area. I was wary of this so I stayed hidden. Anyway, these guys get annihilated by a pack of Komodo dragons. So that was taken care of. So then I turn around to scout the base again....... all the bandits in the base were gone! They'd been attacked by a pack of dogs. Now, there were dogs with them when I initially scouted it...... did they turn on their masters?
Or was it another pack of dogs? There must've been about 5 or 6 dogs, which I took care of with a well placed grenade over a wall. :smug:

As for the first one, I encountered a crocodile kinda how you described during a mission, so I assumed that was scripted. Shit myself.

I got the platinum for this the other day, so it's on to Hitman now!

Wasn't part of a mission, just random exploring when I did it.

I'm terrified of going in the water, especially the ocean. If I'm driving a boat and I come across some loot at the bottom of the ocean, I look around to check there's no sharks, dive to the bottom, get the loot then shoot straight back up!

I completed this last weekend and enjoyed it a lot more than I had anticipated. I made the mistake of working through the main missions without doing any side quests in the beginning which meant I only had one weapon, hardly any ammo and the smallest loot rucksack. I was struggling at times but once I got the equipment I got the hang of it.

I chose to join Citra as I'd seen the other ending already on youtube. I couldn't believe how guilty I felt after making this choice as my character slits Liza's throat  I instantly wanted to take back my decision.

One thing that really pissed me off throughout the game was those bastard armoured guards. Especially the ones with flamethrowers which would take health off you unexpectedly at times due to the spread of the fire. Taking them down was tough if there was nothing nearby that could explode.

They're the reason why I almost always had an RPG handy. :)

That would've been useful but I tended to prefer keeping 3 guns at a time as I didn't have much ammo when at maximum. I'd equip C4 and mines for when I was taking out an outpost which dealt with the armoured guys when placed in certain spots. I killed a guy on a bridge when freeing one of the outposts which for some reason was too much of an obstacle for my friends in a car who decided to plunge themselves into the water  This was in the bit just after you free the outpost when all your mates turn up to guard that area.

I just spam the fuckers with grenades.

Must admit, don't think I ever used C4/mines unless I was required to do so in missions.

The C4 was also awesome for taking out big guys. They're slow, and you could easily flank them. Plant the C4, bait them, and BOOM.
