Pes6 for PC is a pathetic update

my most anticipated time of the year - PRo evo time..

but this year im most disappointed..in fact its any wonder they didnt release a demo cos they knew ppl would not have bought it..

The pc version as we dreaded is a carbon copy of the ps2 version which in fact is simply an update of pes5 with a few new features like better passing and tackling.

Honostly i cant tell much difference between 5 and 6 -
-Same boring music
-Same stadiums
-Same pitches
-Same player faces
-Same kits
-Not much difference in play (appart from passing and tackling)
-Same GRAPHICS!!!
- they actually removed teams not added them!! NO GERMAN LEAGUE

very bad value for money... honostly if ur thinking of buying it and u have pes5,, just get an update for pes5 and keep that.

WE expected huge things when we saw the screenies for PES6 but ohhhh no that was just xbox 360.. PC pppl just got the ps2 version which they never showed pics for ... BECUASE THEY WERE SHIT!!

Konami really dissapointing... dont fall to EA standards.

I'm second to that. Anticipated much of it. But well,..

there are improvements and all. However i guess the marketing made prior to the game release made us presume it was gona be a "big" change. Oh well..

Im actually pleased with PES6, they've improved the gameplay, which i believe is the most important part. It sets PES apart from the wannabes, like Fifa

I agree, there is a big change in the gameplay & that's why i play PES in the first place anyway.

True what the OP states in his post though, they could have done so much more with it on the pc though. Seems a bit lazy on Konami's part

Still having a great time with it,now the stuttering has been fixed:w00t

i forgot to say also that the players have barely changed as well.. the same ones that were in pes5 are in pes6 and almost the exact same attributes... alot of ages are wrong too.

Anothe rreason why it was just an update was that they just moved juventus to the extra clubs list and added new clubs to the serie a they barely bothered to change anything in the game its really a piss poor job given that they charge money for it.

Konami have always been like this as far as I'm concerned (lazy/complacent). The only reason I still buy pro evo after all these years is that they started releasing it on pc which in turn means that the community can edit/mod it to the game it should be.

Plus it only cost me 18 quid. If it was any more money I wouldn't bother.

I think Konami knows that most of you will patch the games to whatever you want and never really play the "original" so whats the use of keeping all the updates, eventually it will be patched. Thats why this time round they even let allocated the slots for you to make your own team.

i think that this year all the PC games are crap

the companies put all their money in XBOX360 and PS2 games.

last year the PC games were better.

What a load of rubbish. Oblivion is one of the greatest games ever made.

Personally I think they've made a bigger tweak gameplay wise than mot people seem to realise. The way the game moves, plays, feels, is a LOT different to PES5. Anyone who doesn't notice this must be stupid or must have been really, really awful at previous incarnations. I'd say it's a big advancement in gameplay terms. I still think that PES7 or 8 will see the biggest changes, but still.

I agree - the game feels VERY different to PES5. My one complaint would be transfers - Amoroso is still at Milan, so is Foggia who is on loan at Lazio in real life. Aside from that, it is fine and those will be sorted out with an Option File.

maybe it's a wise game, but everything else looks like a cheap arcade
so go on and play your wise game
and make all sort of comments why the wiseness of this game is the most importent thing and it's ok that everything else is crap
crapy options
crapy graphics
crapy menus

hey never mind this! it's WISE!

what good is the wise when you can't look at it beacause it's so ugly?

He didn't say it is a wise game. He said they've made a big enhancement gameplay-wise or, if you prefer "in respect of the gameplay".

You can't even spell "crappy"!

I agree that the presentation is still lacking in terms of menus etc, but to be honest, why would you play a football game based on anything other than the football on offer? Which just happens to beat anything else hands down! Menus mean very little to me, frankly. Plus it looks OK, if nothing else, so who cares about the crap music? Turn it off or wait for a patch. Commentary, well, OK, it's become something we expect from football games, and PES's isn;t great, but it's functional enough nowadays. But I say again, it's not what you should be playing the game for.

Graphics - um - I've played FIFA07 and I genuinely think the graphics really aren't special. I think PES6 is better graphically. The players look crap by and large, it looks very cartoon-esque and so on. The stadiums look great and so on, and the TV style stuff is better than in PES, but its getting better here too. Plus, again, its hardly the most important bit. Anyway, maybe its just me, but the stadiums seem to look a bit more hi-res in the PC version this year.

The options aren't really crappy. I don't really think that random team selection thing is worth much, but hey, whatever. OK, master league could be a lot better in terms of structure too, but it's still compelling if a bit silly in some ways with the lack of real money and smaller second division etc.

As for transfers and licenses, yes, it's still not right, and that's a shame, but not all of it is Konamis fault - plus anyone who has played PES from day one has come to accept this as a sacrafice we have to make for a while to play a good game, and an OF or patch will sort it out eventually anyway.

The bottom line is that this is the best football game around, which is why I play it. So yeah, I will continue to play my "wise" game. Please feel free not to.

OK, I apologise for moaning at your spelling. Please explain what you meant in your post, because it seems to me you were pretty much just being critical and unobjective / unreasonable about the game..?
