You forgot about the Blu-Ray factor. That more than justifies the price, for now at least.
But why does that justify anything?

X BOX?? is that that thing that sounds like a helicopter is hovering over ya house???? and if you want to watch high def films you have to buy an expensive add on????.......in a years time the 360 will fade away as a folly.
yeah, in the end the xbox ends up costing more than a ps3 cause you gotta buy that drive plus it only has 20 gigs and u have to pay for xbox live which in the ps3 is fo free
Many would argue that the Xbox Live is far superior to PS3's online. It would depend if you are really into online gaming. If so then Xbox Live sounds better but like me and don't really give 2 fucks about online then I would go for PS3.
that depends on the games, pes is much more fun in the playstation 2 than in the 360. i do care about online play and so far i like the ps3 online . microsoft is makin a new version cause theyre current wont keep up with the ps3, typical microsoft, imo they have a losers metality

castro, what is your PSN add?
Any of you guys got Fight Night 3, NBA Street, Resistance or Ridge Racer 7? If so, let me know so we can play online!
Blu-Ray drives and media are expensive at the moment, in case you didn't notice.
If Microsoft had decided to put all their effort into putting games onto HD-DVDs, then you would've seen the Xbox 360 retail at a price similar to the PS3. Mark my words.
Sony only has two reasons for adding Blu-Ray playback in the PS3.
1, they want to prevent people from copying and playing copied games on the PS3. If BD-RE drives and media are crazily overpriced, then who's going to copy those discs?
2, they want a headstart in the next generation video format war i.e. the successor to the DVD by adding Blu-Ray high definition video playback.
Number 1 is a very good reason for putting Blu-Ray in there. I mean, look how easy it is to copy and play pirate Xbox 360 games on an Xbox 360. Microsoft have made a mistake in deciding to stick with the DVD format in my honest opinion. A next gen console really should be using next gen technology.
But, I do agree with some of what was written in that article though. The expensive nature of Blu-Ray might end up killing the chances of the PS3 winning the console war, never mind the video format war.
I meant justify in the way of should you expect people to pay two legs for a technology that no one uses yet? Or at least to the full extent.
I'm waiting on my Fight Night to arrive, ordered it for £30 on ebay.
Then you've just ordered a can of whoop ass from me too.
How is F1 btw? As a full game, is it worth it?
