So now its a crime to criticise a game ? every one is entitled to their view.Yes, it has its down points, and yes it has its good points. But to also criticise their spelling is a joke. A good percentage of posts have spelling flaws but i dont see "learn to spell" after peoples thread !

If stats matter then why is etoo with Acc & TopSpeed both above 95 caught up by a shite crap player with Acc & TopSpeed below 80 with or without ball. Ronnie has Shot Acc. below 80 realistic!? Not!! He is slow & 10 frames here & 6 frames there dont matter he is still not convincing. I have watched football for ages & I have never seen snails on the pitch as I do in PES5, I played with barca & in real non of them are slow as a turtle but in PES5 they look like girls.
I love the PES games but I have to say much is ruined for the sake of making it realistic. Who says that just cause its realistic that its gonna be good! & I dont like people making personal attacks just cause a some people have some flaws to mention. Grow up!! Its not like we are gonna start playing EA.

The devs already said that you can't sprint all over the pitch anymore, it's more realistic, if you get a headstart, you have to play smart moves on the ball to stay ahead. Any player without the ball can catch up with someone with the ball unless he's a lot slower and got really fooled when he recieved the ball.

That said, the game isn't perfect, but it's close. I am having a hard period again after winning most of my first games on 5 star in ML. Defensive teams are hard to break down, especially if they get a goal. But everyone commenting the shooting are clueless.

PES4 was like balance, type of running, interference, how easy it was to shoot with correct foot etc. all mattered when shooting even before shooting skills are considered. Now it's even more so, especially facing wrong way, taking it directly etc. You can always use R2 right after shooting which sacrifices power for precision. But don't talk trash about something which is as realistic as it has EVER been. Have you ever SEEN a real footy match? Players miss a lot, if you don't concentrate and know your players skills you will miss if you try something fancy. Never been more realistic. It's more important than ever to know your players, be patient, and build up play well. I've played both with shite and good players, and with many teams, I know what I'm talking about when I say it's realistic, you obviously don't if you comment the shooting most of all. Go play FIFA if you want to hit the up-right every time :)

Played this all last week on PS2 then all weekend on PC + online and all I can say 10 out of 10 your having a laugh. PES5 got to many probs to get a score like that. It is the best footy game out there but its got a long way to go to be perfect.
The CPU cheats on any level, players stats mean nothing, shooting can be really good or a joke( five yards out with the lightest of taps and the ball ends up going over the stand), free kicks still poor and one of my pet hates, play the ball up to your forward and he stands there while the defender nips in and takes it. Your forwards have no idea of playing off the last defender they just run offside and then stand there. Online is still far from perfect with the lack of response to commands, I had a player make a 30yard pass back to the half way line when i told him to cross 3 yards from the byline and dont bother playing offside as I allways get 1 defender hanging back to play everyone onside. Sorry ProEvo lovers, its ok but not perfect. Im just piss off that got to what another year see R.E.A.L progress
Whats your most unbelivable moment? I have lost count

Kindly he didn't even play on "training mode"
just try it it will prouve yourself and some many new trick are there...i hope you will get better and prouve yourself the strengh...it's only a game.nothing can win human being...remember that...

Im with both sides of the argument here.

Aslike previous years, the new one takes time to adjust. What is unlike the previous ones though is that its not takinga couple of hours to adjust! I have had the game since it came out for the ps2 and iam still getting used to it. I have since ditched the ps2 version and now play the pc version.

We all know its faults and i know of many people that have took there copy back to the shop, but it is still the best footie SIM out.

Also, i now class pro evo as a footie SIM rather than a footie GAME. It is going down the same route as Gran Turismo.

Still F*****g rules tho

Yep, super true, i.m.o. Fifa is a game with inimaginary shots, awesome moves and dribbles (which I don't criticise) while pro is the opposite, very simple football just to SIMulate how it is nowadays; everyone played for "the show" before, now "the show" is different :p a "new" good defender would break his opponent's leg just to keep him from getting into his area so creativity and great goals become very rare nowadays, and sometime they will eventually disappear and games will become like 0-0, 1-0 and 0-1 :(
Tatical Football > "The Show"
Players like Ronaldinho and C.Ronaldo are hated by most of football team managers because they "waste time" :p
Well but that's just my opinion. (sorry for running a bit off-topic :p)
Now for the topic, yes it's true, it's not 100% realistic but as biXen said it's very close, and if you know your players stats/foot etc it will become more interesting playing :p
But what about a 100% realistic game? The referee, oh the referee, what if there was a dumb referee that misses in most of his decisions like it happens in real life? :p not funny I guess.
But that's just meeee!

Realism is whats killing this game. Football can be frustating to watch but I really dont want too much realism in a football game especially the amount of fouls in this. I bought the game to have fun not to be frustated in every game I play.

If theres too many fouls then stop conceding them simple:D

I always wonder....all these people who give out about the game, be it cant score, losing the ball etc..how many actually use the situation training?

I have been struggling to get to grips witht he overall control system myself, but rather than complain about the game or give up all together, i went back to basics and started training again...now things are starting to come together for me. So, to all those dedicated PES fans like me, who own all the games etc...forget what u know. Start again, and you will learn that PES5 is a fantastic game underneath its glitches..and u can master it...

Im sick of these people who have this "if u think its rubbish then u must be crap at it" attitude. Im sure that like me, many people have bought every single pes over the years and each person has a right to make comment on what they think the flaws are and how they would improve it.

Its like the battle of the pes fans for god sake!!

I don't think it really matters if you bought every game up until now. What you will notice with a blind eye is that it's just much more realistic, in many ways you don't notice just by playing a few games. You have to observe it, and aquire the knowledge. Which is why I've bought the guide.

I ruled on 5 star in PES4, but many human opponents would whoop my ass, because I used a very one-sided playing style. This new one invites you to vary more, use your whole squad better, learn what the players you use can do in every situation and so on. It's much like being a real manager in that aspect. In PES4 if you got a high ball behind you in the penalty area with an average player you might try a volley, in PES5, knowing his stats, you'd stop the ball, pass it back and try a shot with another player, or pass it to the side for a winger, or so on. Get my point? :)

I lose against shite teams now no matter how I ruled in PES4 much because they give you less space than Real Madrid etc. You have to be patient and build play and learn, and I can see how people get annoyed by that, but in the end, when you score, it's so much sweeter, especially the nice goals. I do recommend playing against a human player, it's different and maybe more difficult, but at the same time more unpredictable and you can get much more space.

Memnon, u may get the impression that the stats mean nothing, but maybe that's because ur fast attacker has a blue arrow, and the cpu's defender has a red one... so that's about 5 points off ur stats and 5 points on to him. That's so realistic. You don't see Henry outrunning every defender in ever game in the premiership, do u?

I would say 9.5 out of 10 - I have no problems with AI, fouls, game speed etc. I'm enjoying PES5 and I win 60 - 75% of my matches.

I agree with you dude, it is just like real football. I play 6* in my ML. Finished second in my first season with Man Utd 9 points behind Arsenal, am currently third after ten games in my second season:)

HAehaehahe, I like to see NOOBS complaining about the game. So funny. Just because the game is getting even more realystic and so the difficult, the ordinary player can´t play no more.
