One method is to use the r2 button while shooting (usually to the far post). What u do is to first click power to about 2/3, then imediately hold r2 and the diretional button. This makes the player do an accurate, inside of the boot shot. I Most of the time i would aim to where the ball would curl around the keeper. Shoot (if the keeper is about on the edge of small box area) at about the edge or just in of the 18-yard box.

how the heck do you guys get the time and space to always dummy the keeper. In my games the computer (let alone humans!) will always be closing me down so if I dummy a tackle will come flying in and rob me of possession even if I leave the keeper sprawling. (default difficulty - the one above amatuer)

take your finger off the sprint button ;)

No I mean other defenders, NOT the keeper, tackles me.

Of course sometimes I get on a mad break with acres of space or the computer is stupid enough to leave a forward unmarked in the box. But most of the time there is a defender closing in like crazy.

Also you can't really dummy if you don't let go of R1!!!! Trust me I have learnt not to hammer R1, getting thru season 1 of ML will do that to you LOL

R2 works quite good, amazing even, i was with my masterleague and i was Charisteas (Greek footballer) on the side of goal and held R2 while i shot and he went really accurate and almost scored.
pretty impresive!

r2 is the best way, for me, but most of the time i dont do anything.

i have a left footed striker on the right side and a right footed striker on the left side. run up to the keeper, and place a shot around him so that it would curl around the keeper with the instep. pressing r2 has no effect because the players almost always place it anyway. keep the shots low aswell.

it works if you have say.. a left footed player on the left side of the attack duo, use the sprint button to make him power it, and he will use the outside of the left boot to make it curl around the keeper like the instep would on a right boot.

im gonna try the little long pass over the keeper, it sounds quality :)

well u can always chip it over the keeper but you need a bit of pression to do so because if your striker or whatever is sprinting at top speed they can easlly muck it up so i suggest go at the keeper at a slow pace when you are just about to come into the box and when the keeper rushes out let him stay at least 5 yards away from you and the goal at just chip him i think it is LB+shoot for the xbox 360 try chipping in training i hope this helps :):):)

I totally agree...don't sprint unless it is absolutely necessary, as it will screw your shot....chipping is a great option, but takes practice :)

A typical one on one in-game scenario would be you holding R1 sprinting with defenders chasing you, and the goalie beginning to charge you. You're running straight forward down the middle of the field (middle of the goal) and the goalie is also running right at you. If this is the case I like players that have good body balance and I think technique helps a lot. Body balance because what I like to do is run straight with R1 at the goalie then at the last second (let's say 4-6 feet away from the goalie, so about the bloody line or a little inside of it) I let go of R1 and go up-left or up-right depending on what my person's strong leg is... *this is the trick, do not go diagonal holding R1, you will go to far and the goalie will get it... let go of it then go diagonal*

That will force the goalie to slow down and veer left or right, then I hit the ball opposite direction of whichever way I went (so if I go up-right, I hit it the ball left). This usually works and works well if the defenders behind you don't catch up, so it helps to have a fast person who can escape.

There are also just some people that I never miss with. Fernando Torres (when I use Spain against my friends) is an awesome 1 on 1'er... I don't know his stats but I can bet his technique is in the 90's because he always places the ball perfectly. Even if I hold shoot down too long he will adjust and use a side footer on the ground that fools the goalie and makes me look good :)

its very easy
ive been doin it for years now
if u wanna dummee u press square (shoot button) and then quickly X (pass button)
if u wanna go up then just direct ur Dpad or analog up and with down vice versa

if u just wanna run past him
jus go real slooooow and then go either diagnol right or left or even 90 degree up or down

when i'm on 1-on-1 situation, i've to decide, is there any our player, so it's possible to dummy the keeper with low pass...
In other case, i choose to shoot... i've 3 method...
1. Shoot hard, and hope the keeper block it, and fall into my player...
2. Chip shoot, it needs good timing...
3. Shoot softly... this technique combine with dummy-move, shoot-canceling, and my own technique (which i call dummy-kicks)
Honestly, i can't explain what is dummy-kicks, cos this came like magic, and i think it's only "accidently" shoot...

what i like to do is i press circle and it goes over his head
but it doesn't work all the time specially if there's teammates on the side of it'll most likely try to go to them

I normally perform a fake shot and shoot. Half the time the keepers misses, easier if you fake a shot, then run, then shoot it seems though.

I always use the shoot then press x to fake the shot, the keeper always goes down and I just tap it in along the floor.
