A couple of quick questions...

Good morning gents,

I've decided to come home to PES after spending a couple of years on the darkside and I'd really appreciate it if someone could clear a couple of things up for me. Please bear in mind I haven't had the chance to explore the game at all so my questions might seem pretty simple.

Firstly, can someone explain how duplicated players appear in Master League and My Club modes? What I mean by that is are both versions of a duplicated player included in these mode or just one? Is it Typically the club version?

And secondly, I'm only interested in editing the names of players and teams (I can live without the kits, faces etc) and I'm wondering how the updates affect any edited info? Do the updates reset edited names back to default when installed?

I'd appreciate any help anyone can give me.

1/ Yes there ARE duplicate players, and both of them are REAL. Think like this: the game has multiple players databases for multiple game modes. One for Master League (contain European, Brazil and Argentina Leagues as well as fake leagues), one for Copa Sudamericana 2013, one for Copa Sudamericana 2014, one for Asian Champions League... The duplicates are the ones who plays for different clubs in Copa Sudamericana 2013 and 2014.
The "fake" players do not appear in ML if there are already "real" counterparts somewhere in the databases. For example, you can see Gareth Bale has a duplicate in Wales national team but the duplicate will not appear in Master League modes.
2/ The live update will not affect your edition. But the Data Pack update will, since it can contain changes about players/teams/tactics etc.

1/ Additionally, MC includes all "real" players which is currently on the squad list of: a club (which has real-life counterparts) or a national team. Therefore MC does contain duplicates.

If the players exists, he will be shown in ML. No idea about MC

I guess, as I never use KONAMI updates, that they reset everything. But check the datapack 3 thread in the forum: clicky

Shame about the edited data reverting to default on updates. I assume the updates are optional based on the comments above?

Not sure. There's always the option of disconnecting from the web, that way it won't download anything for sure. That's what I do
