A World Cup squad list update in June 2010

I was thinking that it would be great if Konami offered a free update pack in early June 2010 (kinda like the one they release in Jan/Feb that updates club transfers) - but this could update all the official squad lists of the countries involved in the World Cup.

So we could play online games that replicate the real event, with the actual squads that each country is taking.

Obviously FIFA have the licences for the World Cup but I'm certain updating country squad lists would not infringe on it. I’m sure this would further boost online gaming throughout June and July. (considering it is the lag-free online we have been promised)

Anyone else think it would be a worthy update for PES fans and something you would welcome???

I wonder whether EA have some sort of World Cup add-on pack planned for FIFA 10, it would add further interest to the game as did their card pack idea in FIFA 09. I'm sure EA will have something like this planned, so if Konami could at least offer us the updated squad list it would be great for us PES owners.

Konami could also offer some new licenced kits for the teams that make it to the World Cup (like they did in 2009 when they updated the new England kit)

Maybe they could add one or two of the official stadiums being used in the tournament, and even a new commentary pack specifically for the 'International Cup'.

EA will release a stand alone Fifa World Cup 2010 Game, it will be on all formats blah blah... similar style to World Cup 2006 with Lampard on the cover.

I get the feeling everyone here has lost faith in Konami. Yes the last 3 years on current-gen have disappointed but I believe that this year things have had a drastic turn around.

Konami have finally got up off the laurels on which they were resting and have listened to the PES community for the first time. Master League has received a massive overhaul that has been years overdue. The implientaion of 360 degree movement is finally in place as are hundreds of new animations. Online looks to have finally got a decent effort too with online community leagues and cups, competitions, legends, champions league online - all selectable from a refined menu screen. No more konami ID's and the promise of improved online play - no more players teleporting and jumping about the pitch.

I am for once optimistic that Konami WILL deliver on their promise of a good online game, it is far too important for them not to!

From a personal point of view, yes, I have lost faith in Konami, but that was helped by FIFA 09 which I think is a brilliantly playable game, one of the top 5 games of all time I have experienced even.

Konami used to have a winning formula, but while EA listened to their punters on what would make their game better Konami didn't, FIFA improved and PES just got shit in my opinion.

Having seen gameplay videos for the new PES it looks, again, like no progression has been made and yet more and more progression has been made by EA.

it would be better if it had something like FIFA. they have the squad, the subs then a whole bunch of reserves. i dont see why you shoudnt be able to choose your own squad, you get no real great advantage other than playing with a team you like. for example i might throw maxwell in the Brazil team, but this wouldnt change online, why not? hes Brazilian. registering people for clubs shouldnt work online, fairplay, but people for countries should.

That sounds like a no brainer, sensible idea that would be easy for them to do. It's Konami though, their contrariness is legendary :)

I wonder if the South Africa team is even licensed at all in PES10...

This is the point. A lot of the World Cup teams are not licensed in PES 2010, and some of them will have fake players' names, so the idea is nice, but it won't be so easy to happen.

Now this needs to happen. FIFA WC is garbage, so if Konami can put out a good update with updated WC squads, some new balls and kits, it could keep us happy until PES '11.

Besides, Javier Hernandez signed for Man U, so he needs a preset, a place on Man United & Mexico's squad, and a banging development curve. :smug:

Just played the Fifa Wolrd Cup game and loved it. They have adressed many problems and it feels great. i take my hat off to them for player models. Torres looks physically realistic and moves just like he does in real life. Simply a joy to play. Has great atmosphere, shooting seems alot better, the over-physical side of the game feels like its not as bad and the graphics look sharper.

All in all a great game and most of all the player models look spot on.

Edit: Shooting is a lot lot lot better
