Ok, i never i thought i would say this because i always put gameplay ahead, waaay ahead of graphics, but the graphics in pes 2016 are pathetic.

In a way i thought it was me, but then i see other peoples videos and my eyes hurt. I see they even have to put it in less resolution/quality to have a half decent game.

What then knocks off my chair is that a launch pes 2013 or view a video on youtube someone posted or whatever and the game image just has nothing to do with each other. You can actually feel the smoothness/the images/ movements...

now you can say its a new engine.. but the feeling is that its a major step back. The new engine stated at 14 if i recall.

The way i see it, is that the either you want to make a "realistic appearance" of the players (im only talking graphics) or a "cartoony appearance".

An example of this would be the graphics of Mortal Combat (realistic appearance) vs Street Fighter (cartooney) . You can see the cartoony aspect in other games like C&C and so on.

Personally a prefer a decent cartooney (generally) than a half decent "realistic appearance" that affects the game. and this is what i mean when i dont mind graphics. looking at the older pes like 2013, it was cartoony and it was fun and smooth.

Thing is i havnt seen a decent video of pes 2016 that makes me want to play it with the urge i usually get when io see these kind of videos

no the graphics are not to the full ps4 capability BUT it's alot better than when i played pes2015 on the ps3 , this is my first pes on current gen and ok the cut scenes and replay's are really good to look at but the gameplay graphics are not as good but not that bad tbh.

This generation of consoles are a bit disappointing where it comes to graphics- I thought we'd see realistic grass for example in PES/FIFA by now, and graphics that look like the introductory video for PES 3! Even the rain effects don't look all that convincing to me.

Even GTA V disappointed me, I wasted my money getting the PS4 version, I should have just stuck with the Xbox 360 edition!

After so many years between this generation and the last one, it's really a joke... perhaps it would be better to go back to PC gaming!

Perhaps we're twenty years away from the above video being actual gameplay?

at first it blew me away when i played fifa 15 on my new ps4 in july and the same with gta V especially FP mode and you do notice a huge difference for a few days but when your eyes get used to it then it doesn't feel a'lot different. but if i went back to a game on the ps3 like fifa or gta then i would notice a huge difference again.

Yeah, you're right, mind games I suppose.

I had NHL 15 (PS4) (for a few months(!)) last year, and got used to the graphics, when I looked back at the Xbox 360 version of NHL 14 I could see a massive difference!!

I sold my Xbox 360 version of GTA V- so I bet if I had compared them, the Xbox 360 version would have looked fairly poor by comparison. Perhaps our minds make games look better than they were when we recall them. We're seeing steady incremental changes though, nothing monumental.

I suppose I'm expecting too much of today's technology! LOL

I bought a PS4 last month specifically for PES2016 and NBA2k16. Tried a few demo games, I was so disappointed with it(graphics, framerate) that I sold it after 3 days.

I remember playing the PC version of PES2016 the first time after playing PES2016 PS4. The animation felt weird and not smooth at all(PS4 was really smooth). After playing it for a day on PC though, I already got used to it that the difference in smoothness is not as noticeable.:)

So you sold your PS4, because it didnt meet your expectations?

I was really thinking to get one, also mostly for PES/FIFA/NBA2K, but I still managed to wait. I guess I did the right thing, at least so far. Im pretty much happy with the PS3 version of PES 16 that I have. It should do the job for the coming year, but later on, the change is probably inevitable. Maybe, when they will focus purely on current gen versions, it will improve, having most of the advantages that PS4/Xbox one can offer.

I really don't want to buy PS4 in the first place. I never had a console ever. I bought it because I wanted to play PES2016 online and for my son to play NBA 2k16 online. Both games online play is bad on PC. Also, I thought there will be a significant improvement in PES2016's graphics over the PC version.

I played a few PES quick matches on PS4. I play manual, I really didn't enjoy it because the tiniest of lag ruined it for me. I even thought that the "first time passing bug" is caused by lag.:)

In the end, since I will not be able to enjoy PES2016 online plus the fact that most of the AAA games are better on PC in terms of graphics and framerates, I'd rather play on PC. I know that PES2016 PC is not as good as on PS4 in terms of graphics and how smooth it plays, but the gameplay is pretty much the same plus it can easily be patched.

Yes, thats true. When it comes to patching, adding stuff and so on, there is nothing to compare, hands down, its a huge advantage for PC users.

Hi who, I just bought PS4 and PES2016, Bloodborne in September, before PES 2016 was released, I played Bloodborne a lot, the game is difficult just like Dark souls series, but its such a joy to play. Then I got PES 2016, and played it as long as I have free time, cannot put the game down. I mainly purchased PS4 just for PES 2016. The graphics on PS4 is good I think.

Next year, I suggest that you should buy a PS4, because Dark souls 3 will be out in Spring 2016, which should be a classic and very challenging RPG game. Dark souls series and PES series are my favorite games on PS4.

Enjoy PES 2016, good luck.

yeah it's taken me a few attempts to get into it but i am absolutely loving ML and this is without an OF but i don't notice it unless i play an english team in CL as im playing as barcelona , but this is the best pes offline in years but i must say it's only the best for me on manual passing and shooting imo and with every team stadium edited too add variety, otherwise it's too easy. and the dynamic weather is awesome with players slipping and jostling for possession, and FOULS jesus there wasn't many up until the point i played espanyol in the derby and they had 7 fouls against me and 3 should have seen red , and next game make or break in CL group vs wolfsburg and they hacked me to death. the referee let's too many go imo even a leg break he'll just warn the player LOL but it's great fun to play. proper possesion football.
