I want to love this game. I have been sold by the reviews and for a long time I have wanted to switch but this is the first time I believed there is a genuine option. Have not really got stuck into it yet but I imagine its one of those titles that really comes alive when you put the time in. Couple of things that disappointed me straight off. Most obvious one was out of date Squads ... I have no idea how they can release a game and not bother to update the squads and frame rate lags, I am getting them on the XboxOne and it usually happens when the AI is breaking on me which leads to a goal conceded. That said ... I am committed to loving this game

Wondering about dribbling ... is there a way to knock on the ball ... in Fifa you just tap the right stick in the direction you want to knock the ball .. is there anything similar in PES .. and is there a way to change tactics on the fly ...

Also I take it theres no way to import files on the Xbox One .. for strips etc

Anyway I just started my very first Master Lg ... Fifa is dead Long Live PES

I think you made the right choice. I was enjoying FIFA too, but EA lost it with women's football being their biggest update in 1 year developing, (no offence) but they didn't fix anything in gameplay.

Anyway... Dribbling, the knock the ball thing can be performed by pressing the sprintbutton twice while pushing any direction. Is has a lot of nice features. You can setup your tactics and change them on the fly with the directional buttons up and down.

There are a couple of good skillmoves videos on YouTube already, showing you every skillmove you can perform, although it's not like FIFA where you can fast combo skills, they do feel satisfying when performed right and the animations that come with it are top notch.

I've always been a PES player since PES 1.
I've only switched to FIFA 14 & 15 for the past 2 years. IMO FIFA is not reknown for its gameplay but hell the licenses, the in-game commentary, the atmosphere and the build up of each game, derby and finally, winning a competition... beats PES like no other.
I hate to say this but like you I was sold with the reviews and the demo. The non-updated squads is something Konami is known for as well as the issue with duplicated players in Master League. I still cannot understand how come, after all these years having these and several other issues, why don't they bother to fix this???
Lots and I mean lots and lots and lots of EDITING needs to be done so PES 2016 can be played as realistically as possible (changing fake names, removing duplicate players, copy base players that will be removed after the roaster update, emblems, logos, teams kits and the list in endless!) and even then, you will never be able to edit everything you want due to restrictions in game.
Adam Bhatti has LIED about what the game would be for its fans. No PS4 file sharing and restriction on images to be applied for kits, emblems and etc.

To be quite honest... I'm enjoying PES 2016 until their roaster update.
Maybe then a couple of things will change? Probably not but hope its all we have and it is the last thing to die.:shocking:

If things remain the same after the update, unfortunately, I will be selling my copy of PES 2016 on eBay together with another 2-3 games I no longer want and I'll be getting FIFA 16. I'll definitely lose out some serious game money but stlll... I know I'll be playing a finished, fully licensed game, with real kits, real player faces and outstanding amazing commentary.

And to Adam Bhatti that once said licenses are not important and that Konami is focused in other aspects such as "gameplay": perhaps you should be cleaning tables at a nearby restaurant. Licenses are VERY IMPORTANT!!! Its one of the reasons that WE, the customers, pay 60-70 bucks for a football game.

I lost the account of how many licensed leagues EA has and yet, the price of FIFA 16 is the same as PES 2016. Makes much sense? :eek:hmy:

One area I can say seems better and its a big one ... the game does feel more "raw" and less on rails ... whilst fifa looks better and sometimes seems to play better, there is an element of EA is filling in the gaps a lot ... I suspect they will patch these short comings... they would be mad not to .. this is there best chance to convert Fifa players

lol have fun with the out-dated rosters bro.

I'm actually enjoying updating the club details and just playing football ... its definitely a more Raw experience, the AI, physics and gameplay its hard to describe but I think you need to think about what you are doing as a team a lot more in PES than Fifa were the engine helps you a lot more

Don't mind it one bit. This is fixable, either by Konami or by the great community.

You know what is not fixable? The fact that EA has released FIFA15 all over again with new rosters and called it FIFA16. Enjoy.

I don't regret buying PES16 one sec, and it can only get better with time. FIFA16? I allready own that, it's called FIFA15.

You have look at profits. EA earns so much more than Konami did with PES. Give the budget EA has, they've done little to improve on the gameplay and my experience with their customer service is that they have little to no regard for their loyal customers. They have Game Advisors that can do nothing regarding the gameplay, yes, not even the ability to feedback to the respective department about it.

I have since taken the step myself to stop buying Fifa, and others should make a stand too. Thank goodness, PES is so much better, making my hop over much enjoyable.

Welcome.

I played PES/ISS up until 2007 then i started to get into FIFA. Fifa 08 to about 11 was amazing and FUN IMO. Since FIFA 2012 nothing much has changed and FIFA Has become DULL IMO. PES has tons of issues too but for me personally it is just a better representation of the game. Feels more organic and natural tbh.

I bought FIFA again this year but it really sucks compared to this years PES and had to return it. I can't believe Konami won't give us updated rosters until OCT 29TH for offline modes like master league which I love but I guess at least we get the updated rosters for online mode next week...

Coming from FIFA there's a big learning curve, especially in timing and how to play the game IMO. Fifa is more go go go, 1-2 pass, hit a lofted through ball and smash it in seems to be the formula... but in PES, especially in higher difficulties the AI adapts faster and vs Humans there are different tactics to approach different matches/teams which makes it more authentic IMO.

Give it time and slowly you will learn the little kinks about PES which makes it a superior FOOTBALL game than FIFA. If we are talking about roster updates, licenses, online play, etc then that's another story haha.

Have you played Fifa 16? There is no more "go go go ..one -two passes" anymore. that results in quickly giving the ball away.

I am playing PES and I find it outdated..........it looks damn good ...but the player animations are just too repetitive. Not much to do in attack or defend. I find it pretty boring and extremely easy to score...so does my 12yr old son.

Fifa is way more fun...it is pretty challenging IMO because of the tons of animations and strategies it possess. Many of us Fifa players welcome the slowed pace and I am finding it much more relaxed and enjoyable than Fifa 15...and PES16,

Peace

i have to agree about pes im still playing and enjoying fifa 15 until i get pes in december when the game should be sorted, although i switched to fifa after pes14 was diabolical even though fifa 15 on full manual with realistic sliders is great to play and the games looks and sounds amazing , its about how a game feels in your hand and plays and pes 16 is so free in that sense to fifa which feels restricted somewhat.

I only went with FIFA for now, but I must say after one year removed from PES2015, I am already missing that Fluid Formation. I love fluid formations, was hoping FIFA would copy it this year.
