I just bought a network adapter, just to play PES5 online.

Got it installed allright and network connection test is ok. But when I try to connect in PES I get an error, "Unable to transmit using UDP port 5731". I have tried everything, set my PS2 in DMZ and opened all ports on my DSL modem. Dlink 624+ with updated firmware
.
I've tried Sony Support but no help, and Konami has no support here in Norway, so I can't call them.
Anyone here have a solution to the problem?

*Fifa2004 works online, to bad that is unplayable :D

You do NOT need a network access disk.
you can configure your connection using the PRO EVO 5 disk.
Just go to the NETWORK option.

It's to do with my wireless PS2 online set up.

My router and gaming adapter are both set up and plugged in and are able to send and receive signals from each other but when I test the connection on my PS2 using the Network Adapter disk it says it could not connect to the network.

I am using

Router = Philips SNB6500
Gaming Adapter/Bridge = Belkin Wireless G Ethernet Adapter

I'm subscribed with NTL to allow me to play online so it can't be that, I reckon I need to change a setting on the router but I don't know what.

Someone please help, I've been trying to get online for over a week now.

look around for a cdeal with a high upload speed, around 300+ upload / 128 would be decent.. look for a 4mb to 10 mb download speed too

try looking at

www.telewest.co.uk

they have won numerous awards for their broadband service

My previous post in this thread (the long one on page 4, post #80) had the solution to this problem for me. My PS2 in now in a DMZ within the modem setup and plays online perfectly.

Cool, i'l try that out. Thanks.

It's just weird though, how my PS2 connects to FIFA and WWE Smackdown v Raw 2006 straight away all the time but Pro never works :realmad: .

wll i need a cross over cable to connect my ps2 to my pc? also will it be ok to use say a 12 ft crossover cable? or will this slow my game down loads cos of the lenbgth of the cable?
Nah i got 20metres no slowdown on length of cable make sure it crossover RJ-45 cable though. i have 1.1meg and its fine. occasional slowdown but it not me end. if i play using english or french servers its fine. but if i use spanish or italian they have some lag occasionally.

Right, its been four fucking weeks nowand is till cant get past "testing network enviroment", its pissing me right off. They couldnt of just made it simple could they, like any other game. I know some people have phone up asking why their having this problem, because too many people are trying to get online. Well thats just a pathetic excuse, it been four weeks, it shouldnt have that problem anymore. I mean why the hell do you need to test the enviroment? no other online game does that and the thing is, theres absolutely nothing you can do to solve it, just sit weeks on end till it finally decides to let the majority of PE5 gamers play. I'm bored of playing the CPU, i need a challenge and its frustrating that i cant get one.

Has anyone managed to get a wireless connection going using a BT Voyager 2091 modem? I'm on a 2MB connection and am using it with a Netgear 54MBPs Wireless Gaming Adapter. This is of course for the PS2.

I used to have a Netgear 108MBPs Wireless Modem/Router and that worked fine with the Wireless Gaming Adapter, if with a good deal of lag and other problems. I'd hoped that by upgrading to the BT Voyager 2091 it'd be a lot quicker, but as of yet I can't even get a connection, says it "Cannot connect to the pppoe server." I'm tearing my hair out - can any of you guys point me in the right direction? BT says it should work fine with the Netgear router (it works ok with Netgear Wireless Adapter Cards).

The Voyager is plugged into my computer. Do I have to configure the Router Manager at all?

EDIT: Actually I can now get past the first stage but it fails to find the DNS. I've tried auto doing it and manually entering the addresses, and changed the router manager too, but no luck.
