Am I Missing a Trick in MLO?

I would say buying contracts of 50 games at a time is relatively crucial from a finance perspective. Your gate receipts are only based on the 11 players you have on the pitch though.

The gate receipts are not affected by your opponent (even if they are in a different division or have uber players). Basically you get 1.0x (starting 11) base value for a loss, 1.6x base value for a draw and 1.9x base value for a win.

I would recommend selling all of the default players you start with (Dodo, Ruskin, et al) after their initial contracts expire as their renewal rates are not efficient.

It would appear that the renewal rates of the least popular players are the most cost effective - so shop around for the bargains!

Note that transfer fee and contract renewal rate is not directly proportional. I believe that the fewer owners a player has the more efficient their renewal rate is.

Hope that helps.

This isn't really they key unless you will be playing 50 matches in the next day or 2, as you will end up with players who are out of form for 20-30 weeks = waste of money.

Yeah, no need for 50 match contracts or even 20 when you first start out.

What's the amount of players you're allowed to have in your squad? I currently have 26.

Nope, If you buy a person on a 50 game contract you are then stuck with them for 50 games, a good portion of those they are going to be out of form, at least 40% - this pretty much makes them a bench warmer unless you want to get beat, it makes singing them for 50 matches not cost effective. And the quicker you can sell a player and replace them with a more expensive player the better as you then make more money from a match, signing someone for an extra 40months costs an extra 1million atleast, usually 1.5. If you sold that person and signed a new player with that money you would get a substantially better player and then be making more money also, its a win win. I don't put much time into Pes2012.. about 2 hours a night and I've had the game a week and my team assets are like 65 million, so it seems to be working.

i really don't recommend 50 game contracts, the reasons are already stated in this thread. usually what i do is i find players on blue arrows that are on the way up, and i sign them and give them 20 game contracts, that way i can almost ensure that I have him for a good while while he's on good form. purple form players are a liability, they don't just run slower, their reaction speed is super slow and its really not worth playing them as they might cost you games.

As long as you have a big enough squad, 20+ players, I believe the 50 game contract rule is sound. Sure you will be playing a few players on blue arrows at times, but it is not a show stopper.

I tend to buy the players with a form of 5+ anyway and they seem less prone to the dreaded "purple" arrow.

By all means when their 50 games expire, replace them with better players. Of course this strategy does need a bit more capital to pull off, but if you start with a more average squad (rating 50-55) and don't use the default players it is achievable.

You've got a point I'm just asking the same question...it is just implausible how some users have all those top players at such a short time

The game was released a month ago...if you are playing 24/7 and winning everything, u still can't have Messi, CR, Gerrard, Alves, Ramos, Lucio...etc...I guess

Correct me if i'm wrong:innocent:

How do you check to see if a players form is on the way up or down?

This form thing is silly anyway. Half my squad is purple or blue arrows and the rest are fatigued. I'll guess I'll just have to leave MLO for a few days.

Yeah you can mate, I have only had the game a week and I have half a team of almost the to players. Concentrate on signing new players instead of singing contracts, but only sign the new players by replacing your existing players when their contract runs out. The more money you spend the more money you make every game, add that to your mypes300k per game then your laughing, just make sure you wait until the contract has run out before you sell and sign. I have eden Hazard, Julio baptiste, luis suarez, and many more by doing this. Check my OML tips in this section somewhere, it explains it better.

@FRY yeah the blue/purple makes a massive difference, as in any pes, the blue arrow minus's 10% of a players ability and the grey/purple arrow minus's 20% where as the orange adds 10% and the red adds 20% of the ability (roughly, there's some stats that don't get changed as much and some that get changed more) This makes a massive difference. All the players go up the scale and then down the scale as well. They don't jump from red to green to red again for example, they always go green orange red orange green blue purple blue green orange red orange green blue purple blue etc.. So you can usually tell when your players are about to lose form.

Ok mate I understand you have the likes of Baptista, Suarez and Hazard and this is half of the team...I'm talking about guys who have 20+ players who are top top quality with extremely high prices

and the significant thing is that these users are not good, they just bank on the strength of their squad...no technique at all...run run run cross header!

anyway thanks for the reply mate;)

This form thing is silly anyway. Half my squad is purple or blue arrows and the rest are fatigued. I'll guess I'll just have to leave MLO for a few days.

Go to squad list and press valuation change, there you'll see a graph with two lines. one is the valuation change, the other is form. Form works in a systematic way this year, every player basically goes on a loop from purple to red form. if your player's form is green, but it shows that he was just red two days ago, it pretty much means that his form is going down and will most likely be purple within 3-4 days.
And if your player's form is purple, and you see on the graph that the line is going up again, that means he is finding better form and will be red in about a week or so.
As I said in previous posts, purple players are a liability, and most of the time it is worth throwing away a 10 game contract, to get another player who is on good form. If you have half decent players, winning one game would pretty much get you the amount it costs to sign a 10 game contract.
