What control type is better? i prefer using the the digital to run but the analog is much better at directing shots. Analog definatley from set pieces though!

nah..I don't think it makes a diffrence really..It just feels better for me using digital for free-kicks.

D-Pad for just playing normaly? I don't know how ppl can use that..it doesn't feel natural and is too restricted.

Analogue with Left stick, and hitting the buttons on the right. Passing feels better that way.

I've not found any use for right (trick) stick during games that's worth the trouble of moving my right thumb that far.

I know, but I can't time it precisely enough to use under pressure in a game, or really measure the hight/distance it will go.

I use analog, it just feels nicer to me. I used to use digital on the previous PES games but changed for WE7. I hope one day Konami take full advantage of the analog stick and stop restricting players to daft 8 way running and 16 way sprinting.

How do these divide?

Which running is 8 - normal, no shoulder buttons?

And are the sprinting ones (L1, R1, R2, R1+R2) are they all 16?

yeah it does.

normally you can go north, north east, east, south east, south, south west, west and north west.

when you sprint you can go north north east etc.

Does it help to glide past opponents?

Are there any R1 sprint/dribble techniques that take advantage of the 8 extra directions.

What can you do - tap and double-tap the direction control (d-pad or left-stick) in 4 more angles while still running forward?

"8 + sprint"
'sprint' is a speed, how is it an angle, let alone 8?

I think I'll run around in training some.
