Anyone find it hard to sign players?

I'm Deportivo La Coruna is my master league, so not a bad team, but find it so hard to sign players. I will scout loads of players but mostly a deal is unlikely and negotiations break down a lot. I managed to sign Carlton Cole (quality) and some guy called Mahamane Traore but I'd like to be able to sign better players to go forward.

anyone else have this? or advice on what to do?

Well Dean, not that I have been able to find all the secrets as of yet. To this new ML in 2010. But I think the way to get better players is one, to pay your scout as much as possible. Like on lvl 1 very good players will not be convinced by what scout has to say. And perhaps having him on lvl 5 makes them like lams to a slaughter . And of course as with all ML's just raise your team on the rankings, and with that show the better players that you are worthy of there addition to the team.

Just my two cents. At the moment I have the same problem, that the players I want to sign either all sign on with other teams or that the negotiations simply break down.

But not giving up after this season. Hopefully with denting my spot in the Europa League a lot of players will be signed on for the upcoming third season.

Well, I'm playing as Liverpool, won CL and english cup, yet, I almost couldn't sign anyone. An list of almost 23 players, ended up with managing to buy only few players. Around 3 at max, within 3 seasons. Even the noob ones I couldn't sign, lol.

hi ppl....currently n my 7th season & play with CA Boca juniors ,have won english league(4), cup(5) & UEFA (thrice) & now they are top ranking team n the world followed by Man u ...lol......had the same prblm with signing players n my first season, now everything looks fine..... signing players depends on

1) SCOUT LEVEL:

- get ur scout lvl to the max....can do it n the month of august.....also get ur coach & athlete trainer to lvl 5 it helps the players grow faster..


2) TEAM RANKING:

the more titles , cups & leagues u win the better......just signed 2 players n my first season wen my team was ranked n 60s......but now even aguero s ready to join me....( but still unable to strike a deal with pato)


-u will nvr be able to sign likes of rooney and ronaldo in ur first 2 seasons atleast...so look out for all those young teens, put them n scout list ...and if ur scout says "should have a bright future ahead of him" about any player, get him at any cost.....trust me , some of those fellows will go higher than 90 if u play them regularly........

also apply for transfer negotiations n the month of december , just before renewing contracts....also if ur scout remarks that any player is unhappy with his club, immediately apply for his transfer , got a good chance of signing him....

^ Exactly. Great post mate. As you upgrade your scout, he is more likely to give reports on the players that are unhappy at the moment..
And i go for the talents myself as well - knew it would be impossible to sign great players in the first couple of seasons (which i find very realistic)
Only "star" i've signed is Stevan Jovetic. He joined Rangers and then i bought him.

i havent really signed any stars and am in my 3rd season. i have signed a few good players but none which are star players
still struggling to get the players i want

Other piece of advice. Look for the players with there last season with their current club. Some of those players might be on a transfer or have put there contract renewals on hold. Seeing I have two players who did that to me, and they're being scouted at the moment by other teams. So trying at the moment myself into getting better players via that route.

Contract Rebels!

Signing players who have suspended contract negotiations is the way to go!

In January/Febuary if you search for players who are in their final year and then scan through them you'll see players with a yellow box instead of their Loan/Transfer status. These are players who can be signed for nothing and will join you at the start of the following season.

All the best players will be gone if you wait until the transfer period is open to search for Free Agents.

Otherwsie I've been having no joy in signing players with Napoli even after qualifying for the Champions League

im struggling to sign a keeper and im manutd and all staff is level 5 maybe its my finishing position in the league which was 5th and then 4th i might haft to come higher and win the league to get players intrested.

I've a theory that if the remaining money (ie your net balance) in your "Expected Earnings" is less than the asking price of you target it just comes back as failed from the scout.

Can anyone with a huge net balance refute this by saying they cant sign mediocre players?

I just fineshed S3 after doing the treble. In the first transfer window I had £75m spare and still struggled to sign anyone amazing, did get Mata who im sure will blossom into a good signing.

I had him, but I didn't like him. He is too tiny and slow, and loses the ball too much. A good player, but not a class one. At Season 3 he is probably about 80?

i have plenty of money spare and still struggle. i am starting to get rather fed up with the difficulty of signings. its starting to put a downer on the ml cos i cant buy the players i want.

yeh i meant people like them
people like messi, ronaldo, tevez, robinho, van persie, van der vaart, benzema, torres. etc. them ones who well are huge

tbh i will lay this out. i am man u and number 1 in team rankings. i cant sign a defender from a team which is rank 133
ie its not my problem. its konamis problem for making the negotiations a load of crap

i just find it harsh and unfair that konami think its fair that the other teams can sign big players and yet i cant
ie tottenham had van nistelrooy and robinho. roma got wright phillips. milan got lampard etc

Makes the game more enjoyable and your boughts have to be more precise and orientated, which I sorta find cool. I do not have the game as I've said many times before, so I cannot attest any of the questions or facts, though I'd love to; I would!

Going back to the subject, if other teams in your league are affording some "big names" (because Robinho and co. are "big big names"), it just makes the game more enjoyable for me. I always thought the AI didn't get some nice signings... I actually was intentionally buying players to sell them in the next window, to built a competitive side.

Well, it maybe is kind of weird not being able to sign some average and over-average players as first in the team ranking...
