Anyone get frustrated at how hard it is to hold the ball when defenders are around?

I play in superstar mode, but it doesnt really matter, on WE 2010, anytime a defender is around me, he will most likely take it because unlike past WE/PES games cutes and short time movement isnt effective, and you have to like pass the ball off before they get to you.

IMO this isnt as realistic as it would be in real life, because in the games before and in real life i could just do a quick cut, or hold R2 and go to the side, and that would be done with it as far as a defender charging at me, then pass it off.

This option of quick reaction from my hands to the player on the screen is gone, as far as close range interaction with defenders... its annoying because its constantly like a game of hot potato in order to not lose the ball, and it is impossible with the slow reactions to keep the ball when defenders get too close..

Anyone annoyed by this also?

With that said then, is there any tips? I miss the days of being able to do cuts to beat a player which gives you time and space to do a nice through ball, or a 1-2 pass with L1 and X.

So I am the only one that feels this way?

Yeah i'm the same. But when they have the ball attacking me, i can't defend as good as them. Keep going i guess.

YEA RIGHT??!!! They can get passed me when try to defend, but they always get me!

It kinda pisses me off, and a result its hard as hell for me to score! Many of my games end 0-0 like 90% of the time.... They cant scorre on me... and neither could i on them

Yea i know lol it was funny. But i mean im lookin for real input to help me figure this shit out.

I dunno if im still stuck in the past wanting the old game style, or is there some stuff that I havent figured that can bring me back to beating defenders and giving slicing through balls to my forwards.

^ Agree. It's always difficult to both defend and score in a new pes. But eventually you'll get used to it. - As to your problem, are you talking about them getting the ball from you while your back is turned against them?

When you're surrounded by defenders, just shout ''Look flying pigs'' and the defenders will look the other way and you can just score. Easy :w00t

Yea... i just feel there is something i am not doing right... lol

I am holding R2 when recieving a pass, it helps me do turns around defenders sometimes...

That is true...

Yes, when my back is turned and they are behind me, the little lag has them like come frmo behind and take it before i can pass it off (playing jap WE 2010). I just wish the reactions were quicker on like the R2 cuts and passing, this would make a world of difference for my game play and style.

It's true, in pes 09 it was easy to dribble past defenders, in 2010 its like fifa 09 where you cant get by every defender by just using r1. gotta get used to it i guess although i worry about wanting to beat a man 1 on 1 sometimes thats the shit

Yea!!! It seriously feels like FIFA 09, and that REALLY pisses me off. Thats one of the reasons why i used to hate on FIFA, now on FIFA its easier to do normal cuts, and on PES its imposssible to get by them the same!!

Its like they took the worst parts of FIFA like that, and the whole number system...

Play slow and use the 360 dribbling. But make sure you press the speed at the right moment aswell because if you time it wrong the Defenders will TAKE IT I KNOW IT'S HARD, BUT YOU CAN GET USED TO IT. :) It's because of response times aswell.

Yea, im kinda' bummed out that it seems any kind of individual dribbling is almost impossible to do.

I only had like the step overs work ONCE with messi where i messed up a player, beyond that its really really hard, and IMO takes the fun out of it.

Yea, say its like real life, I disagree, with the response issues. In real life you can have control and pass off quicker than in this game IMO. Same goes with the timing issues on tricks, it takes like a lag before a guy moves when doing a step over or a cut, that is whats killing it....

I dont seem to be finding it hard, and i also think that the playing slow option is a good one, it seems its easier to hold of or get around opponents when dribbling slowly

Yea i just started trying that out, holding R2 and not using much turbo at all unless i got no one in front of me on a through ball....
