Are Konami having a laugh...

So I just beat Villareal 4-0 in the Copa Del Rey so I decided to simulate my next match against Barnsley FC away. It came back 0-0, which I was kinda shocked about seeing as the Barnsley team is from an option file and the players are below average at best. So I went back to the main menu and simmed it again with a diff tactic and lineup. Again 0-0. I tried again, diff lineup and tactic, 0-0. By now I'm kinda pissed off so I decided to play the game myself. 0 f*****g 0 again! I had 12 shots (11 on target) and they had 1 shot (off target). Oh I forgot to mention I am Barcelona.

I would love Konami to explain this to me, the Barnsley team had superhuman strength and were passing it around like Real Madrid.

Just tried again, 1-1, I had 13 shots (9 on target), they had 1 shot 1 goal. Absolute joke.

Edit: I finally won (1-0) and decided to test out my theory that all simulated away games are 0-0. It works, I simmed Hammarby away (0-0) and Sheff Utd away (0-0) and Blackpool away (0-0).

Professional, I dropped down a level as I wanted to go unbeaten in a season on ML. So frustrating, I carried on and the same happened away to Aberdeen and Cardiff, both 0-0.

1st you need to stop being lazy and simulating your games, just play them, then you need some practice if you weren't able to beat Barnsley with Barca. LOL

JK ofcourse ;-)

I have seen all varied results when simulating matches personally, but I rarely do it. Maybe there is a bit of code which kicks in when you sim too many matches.

I can't see how you can complain about simmed results though, and if you can't beat Burnley with Barcelona I think it's more likely down to you than some deep and senseless conspiracy.

It's the fact that every team I play away, no matter how good the team is, they are like Real Madrid reborn. It's no conspiracy you play an away game against a lowly opposition and they will pass it around better than Barcelona, I'm not the first person to notice this.
And it isn't down to how good I am, I can competently win games as Spurs on Top Player ML. The tactics Barca use are pretty much the same as I play with my Spurs side so it isn't down to sliders etc etc.

What else annoys me is that the opposition GK suddenly turns into Buffon and saves everything I throw at him, whereas the computer can have one shot, one goal.

I can tell when it happens as suddenly the controls will feel heavy and no matter how long I hold the through ball button, it ends up as a limp pass to the opposition. FK's are a joke, with 4 Barca players to choose from Dani Alves passes it to the only opposition player that is nearby.

Well, I won't say you're wrong, and I'm not bragging, but from my perspective the game is way, way, too easy. I wish I had your problem to be honest.

The only thing I can think to add is that some people claim that the game is harder if you use a really good team. I would love for that to be the case, but I haven't seen this personally. As my team gets better the game just gets easier, but maybe using Barca would be a different story. Not sure.

Have you tried playing the same way but with a less developed team and see if it's harder or easier?

Try using a BAL editor and make an all 99 player, at first you will own everything alone, but after a few games the defenders with really crappy top speed, acceleration and balance will not only outrun you, they will crush you in shoulder tackles. Not to mention how fast the game is played by then... ping pong or faster.

It's a nice way to check how the game reacts to "too much success" on the human players behalf. It is supposed to make the game challenging for everyone, but instead it turned out stupid for everyone.

I´m not sure if it´s real, but as my ML team got better the games became harder and in the first few seasons I was winning everything, now I celebrate when I win a domestic Cup title. I always thought the game was easy because the CPU never attacks... but now it seems they are trying harder and scoring more goals, specially in those decisive matches.

On my ML save the opposition just pass pass pass pass pass and pass some more. Hardly ever attempt to have a shot. So frustrating when they have like 60% possession and no matter how much pressure you put them under they hardly ever lose the ball.

Going to start a new ML soon anyway, need a new challenge so may start as a lowly team like Hammarby etc etc.

There is a frustration element to the game where so called weaker teams just past the ball about for fun making you chase them about, when realistic that would never happen! :(

Can you provide some more details on your playing parameters?

What difficulty?

How good is your team?

How many games (or approx %) were you playing before you think the increase in difficulty triggered?

How many seasons?

Win % in track record might be a factor?

Best player/stat on your team?

Thanks, I really want to see this happen for my ML...
