*** Are you really dissapointed with PES5??? ***

If your answer to that question is honestly yes then you will promptly be returning the game to where ever it was that you had purchased it from and demand a full refund?

I'll be the first to admit that the latest instalment could be improved. Indeed, I completely support Braithsea's comments in regards to the attacking capabilities of the AI. I've also made numerous posts about how the team at Konami should review and address the graphics and sound of the crowd appropriately.

But all you cat's out there stating that you are dissapointed with the game is just cold. Can you honestly say that you are dissapointed with the latest version? Can you state, with out any hesitation, that the gameplay has not been improved? After all, I believe that is the main emphasis that Shingo 'Seabass' Takatsuka and the boy's at Konami focus on when they are putting the game together. And that's why the game receives as much praise as it does, because of the gameplay.

I bet you same people are playing and thoroughly enjoying the same game that you are criticising as I'm typing this thread? Does that not make you hypocrites?

I don't mean any disrespect and I'd also be the first to say that the game is not completely perfect. It's the most realistic football sim available today, and for that reason PES5 deserves much love.

*** I don't object to any comments with regards to how the game can be improved, but don't gun the game down while you will be playing it until WE10/PES6 is released ***

totally agreed. I am still waiting for WE9I to be released in the U.S. But one thing is for sure, I'll be enjoying We9I untill PS3 and We10 come out.

i'd say i was slightly dissapointed in that i dont enjoy the game quite as much as i enjoyed pes4 but i can recognise that the new game is an improvement over its predecessor if you know what i mean and i wouldnt dream of taking it back! its certainly more realistic and a lot tougher.

I love how the game is. Best Pro by far, and even though I used to tear teams apart on 6* laughin my head off on pro 4, I prefer scraping past Portsmouth 2-1 away on a cold winter evening on Pro 5.

good good thread liking it thumbs up, i ain't dissapointed loving the new one but i agree it isn't perfect and i think pro evo are gonna lose a few people because of the fact its a football sim now more than ever aint sayin the other pro evo's weren't but you could easily pick up pro 4 and get to grips straight away now pro 5 here and it like starting all over again even for the pro's on this game had to restart thats why some magazines have gave it less than it deserves and so on, so to me this isn't a game where your gonna go amazing from day one it has to grow on you, this game now is more of a sport/strategy game than a lets get a group of friends round and have a comp going because if they dont all have it then there pretty much fucked sorry for the language. and i think this is where fifa beat pro ever so slightly in the fact it pulls any gamer who likes football to pick up and play. for me it isn't a game i can sit there all day playing like i did with pro evo 4 but then it amazes me how i can struggle on 3* but can play on 5* without a problem not saying i get 3-0 but just slightly bit easier cos they attack more enough on the gameplay yes it isnt perfect in all the other areas stats are ner enough perfect but crowds r shite, commentary is shite, get that right and this game will be as close to football as it ever can be i believe now the gameplay is perfect maybe change the strictness of the ref a little or give the player control of the strictness and wiv the ps3 comin out the graphics will improve theres not many more ways pro can realli go anymore.

The AI game is pretty crap now, I hate it. You can have some good games multiplayer though, it just doesn't flow sometimes which can be really annoying.

I'm shocked that there are this many saying yes. I've been playing non-stop for ages. Much better than last years installment and kicks Fifa all over the park IMO

Nope

... not perfect but im not dissapointed....

Did you not agree with Braithsea's comments in regards to being dissapointed? Not just dissapointed but OVERALL DISSAPOINTED!!!

Initially I was a little wary but it is growing on me big time, struggled with the dribbling at first, cudn't move a yard without getting tackled but now find that at the right time with the right player I can make little bursts through the middle/ down the wing, skipping out the way of challenges as and when they come. It's taken a long time to grow on me but now that is has, im a little worried that it's gonna rob me of an education :S

A lot of what you said is true??? Is that not agreeing with someone??? Yes a lot of what you say is true but I don't agree, so that would indicate that you don't believe in the truth?

Totaly agree. It denfinitely had some obvious flaws: missing crowds, sound, AI..., but I think people are disappointed simply ignore the many subtle improvements which dramaticly make the game more fun to play. Something not many people mention is tackling, now you really can time your tackles more precisely and not give away fouls. I had far less cards in Pes5 than 4. Also, comp teams cheats slightly less.

I like the way it's more difficult to run away from defenders, exact opposition to some, simply because IMO it's more realistic, I think even Eto'o, Cristiano, Rooney, Owen... found it difficult to loose defenders in real life, so why should it be easy in the game? Not to mention more fluent animations and ball physics. I'm sure there are many more good points...

BTW, the only thing that really pisses me off is the turfs, I simply don't understand why Konami sticks to the greyish green color, sometimes u can't even see the ball! It definately affects gameplay. Fortunately I've already patch some stadiums with stadiums people made.

I think with Konami's limited resources they had to concentrate in some areas, and mostly they've chosen the right ones.

When you play for a while grinding out 0-0 against crap opposition you can't help but feel frustrated but when you curl one into the top corner you know why you have lost a whole day playing this game. The fouls used to bug me but now I never tackle from behind with X my game has changed to suit this game.

Well, everyone knows it's not perfect. But I'm absolutely happy and I keep playing this. PES is more realistic and makes me think football.

I think overall it's an improvement over PES4 but Konami I think just need to "fine tune" a few aspects and really concentrate more on the Master League.

An example is the "weather code".

Although it might seem a small issue, it proves Konami's focus isn't first and foremost on the Master League, which I don't understand because it's the best part of the game, and I'm not sure I'd buy PES every year if it wasn't for the master league.

do you really think it's an improvement on pes 4, i think our whole arguement is on the fact we were so hooked on pes4 that we judge it to this and yes pes is a continous game which every year there gonna bring out a bigger and maybe most probs better game than the last but, i believe every single magazine, website and people, have said that the game has been made near enough from just the foundation of there pes, so to the people who say it isn't different to pes4 then well everyone will agree u mustent of played the new pro because its a totally different ball game i'd say this game was a football sim/strategy.
so why do we keep saying its an improvement from last year and then some people are sayin it's a let down from last year when these 2 games pro4 and 5 are totally different, in one a more addicttive pick up and play football sim and this ones a more you wont even master it in a year without discovering a new shot or new pass etc.
so shouldn't we count this a fresh new beginning and insight for what is to come in the future cos for sure i dont look at it as the next one in line i see this game as just a glimpse for whats to come in the next pro, were already nearly at perfection for the greatest football game ever created and ever will be because as soon as you hit perfection where else is there to go? :S
