Hi,

Following the topic "with the com team not developing players..." it maybe a good idea to post players here with the age they stop developing. In this way people can make up their mind if it is useful to buy a player in let's say the 3rd ML season, looking at his stats and his number of years to develop. The idea behind this is that you cannot look in the development sheet before you buy a player, so we create our own sort development sheats here. I'll give it a start:

Rooney: stops developing at 22
Saviola: stops developing at 26

Robinho - age 21/22
Batistuta - age 30+
Chapi - age 30
Ronaldhino - age 26

Ill post more when i can confirm it. hope everyone else can post up other players and create a list here.

Am I doing something seriously wrong then?

Adriano was the first player I bought and in 3 seasons his stats have decreased significantly. For example, his shooting power to start with is 99, mid way through season 3 it is at 95. This also happens on his dribble speed etc.. This is the case with half of the bought players in my team too

Any advice?

Also, Wiltord is still improving in my team at the ripe old age of 32

I was just thinking about this, cos it's frustrating to not be able to see a development curve before you buy the player, then when you do, you find he stopped developing 2 years ago and is now dropping. This should be a hot topic.

It depents!
I bought C. Ronaldo when he was 20 and he didn't develop at all, while somebody here got him and he stopped at 22...

Pointless theard....nice idea but they develop at differnt ages dependig on certain circumstances.

So what you're saying is that development curves are at random? Otherwis, you're point doesn't make sense. Ofcourse, players don't develop when they are injured, or when you don't play them, and ofcourse players develop quicker when they score or get an award, but the age they stop developing is always the same. If not, the development sheets are at random and that is not possible.

exactly man. every player has their own development sheet, end of. it will always be the same even if they retire 5 times and come back to life.

i'm pretty sure that development is affected by the level you are playing at. ie players develop more at 2 stars than 5 stars (or at least the ones in your squad do). When a player plays well (according to the computer individual rating) they get a better increase.

Also, some stop developing during the season but increase well in the end of season training sessions.

I found Nakata and Adriano got worse after I bought them, I have no idea why though which is enfuriating

Cardozo (BUY HIM) - 22 by the way

It's not the amount of development where this topic is about. It's the age that players stop developing at all. And that age is always for every game the same.

The ratio behind this topic is, that you can decide if you want to buy Rooney at 21 (who hasnt developed greatly cause com-teams don't develop players in the same amount as human players do) when you know he will stop developing a year later. That's why this topic is.

So you might be right that players develop more when playing on 5 stars then on 2. Maybe they develop more when you play a european cup final then when you play against a lower leagueteam (just like in real life) but that has nothing to do with the age they stop developing. That will be the same on 2-stars and on 5-stars because the development sheets are not at random.

I'm sure that theres no way to develop them further but I think Konami should definitely fix this problem in PES5/WE9 so that it becomes possible to develop a player for longer than 2 or 3 Master League seasons. I mean it would make sense if you could develop players over 5 or 6 seasons cos in real life, it really does take that long for a teenager to fulfill their potential. And they don't start losing their abilities till they come close to about 30 years old. Whereas in PES4/WE8, I've got players like Ferdinand and Van Nistelrooy losing their stats slowly at about age 27-29.

some may think its stupid. but if you could train these teens up 2 better players, they wil end up being better then the best. then people would say thats stupid. konami have understood that they wil never know how good these teens will be. they r already half decent in the game and u can train them up for a short period thats it. players on the other hand who have shown they can be better when they get older, are good on the game. batistuta who has a long growth deveelopment chart. he stops developing at around 30 yrs plus. so where u say u cant train for more than 2 - 3 seasons, ur wrong mate. u can train batitstuta for more than 10 seasons. even the same goes with baggio. konami cant predict the future, but they have laid down the charts as realistic as possible. who knows, rooney might end up being shit at 23. just coz hes good now, whos 2 say that hes gonna be great or gonna be shit. u cant predict. so either way it goes, it will end up being stupid. just have to live with these facts. if u wanna train for long, buy players that u know can play for longer. just think of all the old players now who are still good and at it. like zidane, bergkamp, kahn, okacha, baggio, batistuta, di canio and so on. all the good teens in the game stop developing around 23 so dont bother buyin them. same goes with adu and robinho.
