Attacking Corners : The Solution

I have read several posts whioch have people moaning about something i also find crazy in PES5. This is the fact that your CB's dont go up for corners in this version of the game! You will always see your strikers in there, maybe a midfielder or a wide player, but never the John Terry or Alessandro Nesta, who to be fair are the more dangerous players at Set Pieces.
For fans of the series, you know this is something new to Pro 5, as Pro 5 regularly saw 5 goals a season from Igor Tudor, coming up from the back to aid the attacking cause. However, there have been complaints that this left you too shy at the back, or there were not enough players left defending. Surely the solution to this is a simple one.
Each player has a stat for heading. So what Konami should do it have the four players with the best heading stats in the area. Then take the next two with the best shot accuracy and place them around the box. With one player taking the corner, that still leaves you with three very capiable defensive players, should the sounter attack hit you. Surely this would solve any arguements on the situation.
Hope that makes sense, and would appreciate feedback!

Yeah, sounds good but I think that sort of planning for corners is a game or two off for Konami.

Welcome back...
With Liverpool not having any real strikers who head the ball when I am trailing in a game and I get a corner in the last few mins I throw Hyypia up front as one of the strikers and he does have a good success rate if you can find him in the box.

Either Peter Crouch isnt a real striker or he cant head the ball ?

In real life he isnt a great header of the ball, on the game he always seems to head over as he jumps too high.

When Im about to take a corner and I have a good defender who can possibly score, I swap him for a smaller player who would be in the box, take the corner then swap the defender back to his position again. Cannavaro has scored a few for me in doing this...

Sounds like a good idea. But what if you have a very short player with better heading stats than a much taller player? Wouldn't you rather have the taller player in the box?

Well, no i wouldn't. Say for instance there is a tiny player with good heading and a huge player whos heading is erattic. If the ball falls to the big player, chances are it will fly over or wide, whereas the smaller player will ht the target. I have found this from having Zidan and Adriano up front. Zidan is alot smaller than Adriano, yet has bagged more with his head from set pieces. If, and we are lead to believe that the stats really matter, then surely having the best headers of the ball attacking it is beneficial. Its similar to free kicks, you look at Free Kick Accuracy as the main point, not shot power. Same with heading accuracy as opposed to height!

Actually the main stat for FK is Curling as it determines your ability to bend and dip the ball down. It would be pointless to have 90 accuracy and 60 curling cuz the ball will fly over almost every time.

Anyways back on topic...I'm happy with the way things are, but I like ur idea a lot.

WOW,OMG...but you can call a defender in attack(but just one) without switching players.Just set a button in formation settings for strategy "CB overlap" and use it when you need the defender up front. Its easy as that.

Sometimes I leave the smaller player in there as I sometimes prefer a ball to the front post, and using a smaller player for these works a treat. It all works out grand for me, I score alot from corners, which ever way I take them.

I forgot to mention you need to do and another thing for the defender to come and that is to set the attack/defense indicator to full attack(L2+R1 until it gets red color). Now the defender is going to the penalty spot(sry, but I dont know how to put him near the post).

Keep waiting..sometimes u have to wait a long time but eventually he'll get to the post.

A bit from column A and a bit from column B.

Crouch has never scored a header for me. I even updated his stats to see if he would, but he seems to have got worse, his headers blaze 2 feet over the bar, everytime.

Im in a phase now that I pick Real Madrid, with Cannavaro winning everything at the back and Ronaldo puttin in headers up front on a regular basis, I think Cassanos a good player to have in the game as his crosses can be deadly...

If you put attacking up to full before the corner scene (L2 + R1) atleast one CB will be forward, if u do it while before taking the corner a CB will come forward but its a pain waiting.

Theres a simple solution to this. Have you got your ears on Konami?

Just give us a set-piece editor. Then you can select the players you wish to be in the box for corners, and free kicks for that matter.
