Anyone else noticed the computer will randomly lunge in with awful tacles for you, iv had a fewplayers sent off over this. It happens most of the time when im playing two player with a mate, just casually running alongside a player and then the computer lunges in, its so annoying.

Most of the time its when you call for a AI player to help pressure the player. The thing that does it is when you do feints, the AI always get done with these.

It only happens when your team is under huge pressure. It's annoying, yes but in reality it does happen alot. I know the AI will do it for you but it becomes something realistic if you're only watching the game rather then playing it. :)

Pressure is stand up and stop the player from trying to pass/mark goal side. The AI dives in for you. I've had this a lot and its frustrating

I know what pressure is, but we're talking about the AI... In PES09 its really easy to wrong foot them, hence why they dive in. They don't have a brain like us, they can't anticipate what you going to do next. Some times the player will do a sharp turn and the AI will think he's going straight forward and therefore clips him... See where I'm coming from?

It's not easy to make the AI play football fluently, as you can see. People expect too much, if you want realism, go down the park, if not and you want to relax, play PES...

all i'm saying is that they should have written that pressure is just that, pressure and not diving in. the frustrating thing about this version is that things happen when they shouldn't. surely this wouldn't be that hard to do. the game is full of issues. rather play PES6 on the PS2 than this version.

Its been the same on all versions for me, PES6, PES08 and 09? When I use the button which gets the closest AI team mate to help pressure, he some times dives in... I know its frustrating, and if you hold the normal pressure button you wont dive in, but you have to remember the AI team mate is controlled by the AI.... Who most of the time, have a mind of their own lol... Some times its good what they do, other times its bad... But the AI mainly dive in because they think a shot is coming.

i see what you're saying, its never been that noticable it other versions, to me anyway.

Stop bickering! its hardly realistic, if i wanna make the tackle ill press the button, i dont appricate the comp doin it for me, it only worked once for me and was a great challenge but id rather it never happend

this is the biggest problem i've had with the game so far. i've probably played 10 or so matches, and i've lost/drawn at least three or four of them because my AI has given away penalties.

i'm defending by using the pressure button, and then the player that i'm controlling makes a ridiculous lunge. happens almost every game, unfortunately quite often in the box.


big flaw, imho.

the computer makes some infuriatingly sinical tackles, if you notice also they always manage to foul you with a different player each time so they don't get sent of. Yesterday 8 different comp players were booked
