Hi everyone,

I have now got my x-box back after the dreaded red ring of death and im addicted to the Become A Legend mode as im sure many of you are.

Anyway.. it took me a long while in the first season to make the bench for Sunderland i did it and in my second game off the bench i got man of the match. In the January transfer window i moved to Middlesborough and it took me up until the last 3 games to make the bench, now im in my second season and on the 7th fixture (i think) and im now a starter for Boro, the onl problem is i havent scored a single goal, not even in training matches!! I just find it so bluddy hard to score and when i get into space im always closed down (im playing it on Top Player by the way, any other difficulty level would be no fun for me!).

Anyway does anyone have any good advice on how to get that confidence boosting first goal?

and

Also, what does everyone put their strength points on. Mines on 4 dribbling and 4 speed, can anyone reccomend me the best way to use these strength points when you are in the second season and cant hit a barn door!!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Cheers,

Matt

Hi mate,

It took me a while to get that first goal. I played about 18 games in my first season and only scored 5 goals. I'm guessing your a striker seen as though your worried about scoring goals? I personally use the radar a lot to find space inbetween defenders then just ask for the ball and divert your run around them. I know its hard obviously in your first, second, thrid seasons because the players arent exactly the best.

As for the strengthen, i'm a striker and I had mine on 6 for technique (kicking) and six for speed just to get those stats up a bit. I'm in my 6th season now and I have 91 for top speed and 92 shot accuracy and i'm getting 30+ goals in my last 2 seasons and am currently on 25 with about 15 games left. So maybe try building up some speed and shooting ability.

Dan

EDIT: If your a midfielder mate I wouldnt worry about scoring goals! Just try and get some assists. Maybe for your strengthen have a bit more on stamina and kicking to get your passing up a bit.

No problem mate, like I said in my first season I only scored about 5 goals in 18 games so goals dont come to quickly in your first couple of seasons but my last 2 clubs have been Man Utd and Sevilla and like I say i've had 30+ and now at Juventus so just stick at it mate!

I started the game as a SS but when I went to Portsmouth in my first season they didnt use a SS so I was playing CF. Now I have a tick next to them both so I can play either SS or CF, but started as SS

Some additional tips:

1) Play on the edge of off-side. Especially when you are still not very fast this reduces the risk of being caught up
2) As a striker, call for the ball when you run in the spaces and not just all the time
3) Don't run continuously, but save your breath for the real opportunities

Believe me Striker isnt easier by a long shot!

Not many teams play AMF so its hard to stick with that position and usually when you do find the team (England do as an example) you end up always playing 4-5-1 which i personally hate so have adapted to the CMF position which nearly every team uses.

Also you said you are training Technique Dribbling and Speed and wondering why your not scoring? I wish i had Technique Kicking on full from the very start of my career as it boosts tonns of useful attributes which you require as a CMF.

Peronally if i started again i would keep the Strengths as default 2 for each. After two seasons i would then concentrate on Maximising others.

With strengths you really need to concentrate on how YOU personally want to play the game ... for instance i play CMF and like to shoot from outside the area and make lots of passes to create goals .. i find it virtually impossible to take on defenders and beat them so i tend not to bother.

So i concentrate on Technique Kicking, Power, Balance now. Although i have 85ish speed/dribbling attributes which i dont feel i need to increase. I would like 95+ shooting though for them outside of the box wonder goals ;)

Hi Pac mate. I agree with you about England totally. So I went on the editor and changed the formation to a 4-4-2. Loaded my BAL and it was still 4-5-1, but the next competition it had changed to a 4-4-2. Try it, I hate 4-5-1.

for corners stand outside the box so if the defence clear the ball you win it, shoot automatically and then you would find that it either goes in and you gain another corner so it either gets you goals, assists or improved stats to make goalscoring easier.

easiest way to score go near post on corners and DONT CALL for it then he puts it 7/10 on your head and i found that double tapping the shoot button twice is better and i play on xbox 2
