BAL dilema

hi, i am now playing with my BAL player in my 9th season with him. i played on the difficulty "regular" for my last 5 season and its getting a bit easy. i regulary get "man of the match" and "most impressive player" awards and i score many goals and on a good day i can even score a hattrick and even more. now, here is my problem. i want to cranck up the game level to "professional" but i dont know how it would be like. can anyone that had played BAL in bothe levels tell me: what's the difference in both levels, how much more difficult is "professional" than "regular", is it worth it to risk my whole season for a bit more challenging game.

by the way, does anyone else feel that in BAL, when you get a corner and you position yourself in the box- do score easily from that position? because i score almost every time when i go up, and i even scored three goals in one game from corners.

I say go ahead and up the difficulty, mate. It's no fun when the challenge becomes non-existant.

I'm on Top Player, myself.

As for the corner query. I used to score often enough from corner kicks, but I don't remember putting many away (if any at all) since joining Manchester United. I chipped in with a fair share at Bolton, and Spurs, though.

OK thanks! at the end of the season i'll change it to "professional", i just hope it won't screw up my season...

I've moved up the ladder as I felt I became better at the game (seeing how I started my PES playing career with the 2009 version).

Currently at Professional and it sure does turn my teammates into twats.

i have to agree with the others, Top Player is where i play, no lower, i say go straight to Top Player or u don't get a challenge tbh...

I will also up the difficulty because I get man of match every time I play and scored 40 goals in 20 matches.

me too... i am 4th on the total goal scorers and 11th on assists. i prefer to move to "professional" just to be safe...

^I think that I'll move to professional too. I was the overall total top scorer since the 1st season. :D
BTW, how do you get so much assists? Whenever I try to assist, they always fail to score.

well, i play with toress, kuyt, shurak (he is very good but i dont know who he is) and van der vaart- they usualy put it in when i cross it to them. try pressing R1 when you cross- it delivers a more accurate cross.

I've been playing on "Top Player" since day one.

It just so happened that I was reading these boards as I was DLing official and unofficial patches etc that I read something about AI being completely arse on anything but "Top Player" difficulty.

The learning curve was quite steep, but I managed to make a good first career anyway.
I have not played much of the other game modes, mostly because I think FIFA is more realistic when it comes to league simulation, but I have won a few World Cups on "Top Player" difficulty just by using the experience I got from "Become A Legend" mode.

To anwer the thread starters question, if anyone already hasn't (I didn't bother to read all the posts.
You can change difficulty between seasons, or alternatively use a BAL editor to fix the difficulty setting mid-season.

just do top player, top player difficulty isnt really so hard in pes, but in become a legend top player makes your team shit, they fail to cross, they lose balls, so just take over the game with your guy, i suggest being a forward since you wont be dumb enough to pass the ball when your in the box for a shot, as the ai team will do in top player. oh and, learn to LOVE the fake shot/cross move, its a life saver in just about any game in pes and in become a legend its sweeeet

oh well, I still say "Top Player" is the only one worth playing.
The utter stupidity in the AI makes the easier ones just unplayable.

Just to mention it, "Top Player" also make your team mates better, and it is not much harder than the other difficulty settings in BAL mode, just better.

In fact, Konami should rename the difficulty settings to stupidity setting, because that's what it really is.
The higher setting, the less stupid your team mates and opponents become, on top player they are still quite stupid but not at a point where you rip your hair off in rage... well at least not every match.

Agreed Top Player is the ONLY way. As for Alon scoring all the time from corners, try that on Top Player and you'll find out how "easy" it is haha

how can corners be more difficult to score in differente levels? maybe in begginer compared to top player, but how?

Defenders are better on the higher levels, hence scoring from corners would have to be more difficult
