In order to play Pro Evo online on my PS2, is this all I need?

I have a PC with internet connection next to the PS2.

Thanks for any help.

PS/2 means the standard mouse/keyboard port. So i'm about 99% sure that's useless for online play :)

Actually, I'll just describe what I've got.

In my room: an old-style big PS2 and a computer with wireless internet connection.

In another room: a modem (linked to my PC wirelessly).

That is all.

If u want to go online, u will need a network adapter that screws into the back of the PS2 (around £15-£20) and i am pretty sure u need an ethernet cable (so not wireless)

When u buy the adapter it comes with a disc, Follow the instructions on how to let the Ps2 it can now go online and then ur ready. So in terms of hardware, all u need extra is a network adapter and somehow get an ethernet cable from your modem into your PS2 (for me, this envolved buying a 20m cable and making a hole in my floor, running it up from downstairs! For my brother, his goes from downstairs, into my room, up through the loft, then drops down into his room. Nightmare!)

Once you have a network adapter and cable, post again if u need help!

Buy a PS2 Ethernet Adapter. You can't buy them in the shops anymore but lots of people still sell brand new ones on Ebay so you'll have to buy one from there.

The Ethernet Adapter comes with an Online Access Disc and a Network Access Code. You will need both to setup your PS2, Username, and Internet Connection settings. Note that the PS2 Ethernet Adapter will need to be screwed into the Expansion Bay at the back of the console.

You will need to purchase a Router that uses a wired connection - or a wireless Router with wired RJ45 ports. You may also need to buy a lengthy Ethernet cable to connect your Router to your PS2. Again, look on Ebay for these.

As for the Router, you can buy these from PC World. But they sell mostly Wireless ones these days. Like I said earlier, some of the Wireless Routers come with one or two wired RJ45 ports on the back so you might want to look out for one of those (Netgear do these types of Routers). If not, then I'm afraid you'll have to get a wired only Router. Again, these can only be bought on Ebay these days.

Like 7ames mentioned, post a reply if you need any more help once you've got your PS2 Ethernet Adapter, Ethernet Cable and Wireless (with wired capability) Router/Wired only Router.

does it really matter what size ps2 you have cn you still play online with both?

Yes you can play online with both but the old "chubby" PS2's require the ethernet adapter, where as the new slimones have it built in

Thanks a lot for the help. When I get paid at the end of January, I'll buy the pack I need. What I'm going to do is get a long ethernet cable from my modem straight to the PS2 rather than worry about wireless routers and stuff.

Thanks again.

piss off stupid birmingham fan

:D How very necessary.
