Being a captain

i'm not sure but do you ever get to become the captin of your team

Yes.

It all depends on what kind of players that are already on the team and what kind of player you are.

No one really knows the AIs way of thinking when it comes to choosing the captain but I have experienced being the captain of a team myself, although on the 09 version (havent played too long on 10 yet)

I was made permanent captain at Sampdoria in my first and only year at the club at the age of 24. Why? I don't know. I just was.

This is just speculation, but I've noticed my player gradually moving forward in the line up in the tunnel. When I started he was always the last onto the pitch, but now he's usually fifth or sixth from the back. Perhaps the ordering in the tunnel is an indicator of seniority?

I've only just started being made captain at age 23 at PSV, and it seems like I only get the armband when the 1st choice goalkeeper isn't playing. Rather annoying, as my teamwork (the only really significant stat in regard to captaincy) is 90, while the regular captain's is 74. The outfield plays 1000x better when I'm captain, but then the backup keepers both suck. :^/

How many Teamwork and tenacity i should have to be a captin?

I'm assuming tenacity is the same as mentality? I now have 92 teamwork and 80 mentality, but I'm still third choice captain behind a 35 year old with 74 teamwork, 62 mentality and a 33 year old with 71 teamwork and 70 mentality. It's been similar at previous teams, as well, so seniority definitely has more to do with it than stats.

Any time my 17 year old comes on as a sub for Crespo at Genoa, I play as captain and it's annoying me.

I made my conclusion based on how Argentina switch captains due to lineup.
Mascherano is selected captain by default, but once he's out of the team Zanetti gets the captain band, and if he's out too it goes to Maxi, Lucho or Gago, even if Crespo is in the lineup.

I don't really care though, as it's just a minor visual detail and I don't think the choice of captain, and his abilities actually make any difference at all on the teams performance.

it's definitely not the case in other modes... Messi was 10th of 11 in the Barca side, and he's both captained the side in reality and is on the box... but you never know, what with Japanese knowledge of European football, some players have the wrong skin colour! haha
