Anyone want to share what you think it is the most effective formation and tactics when playing online? I never ever pick Barsa o Real madrid, usually just Arsenal\Porgugal or spain. Recently i used Man city with a 3-2-2-3 formation and it works pretty good. When you set mentality to very defensive, the 2 midfielders will drop to form a 5 man defensive line, it looks impressive when Messi is charging at you and has nowhere to go...

on 09, i used to do the man city default 4 5 1 formation but at bit closer together and attacking wing backs, it really worked for me, i went from a d3a player to d1 ,

but on 2010 tbh, i have this formation doesnt work as well, as it was about first time passing and 1-2s, due to the reaction times doesnt work now, so i could do with some help here to coz im struggling online.

Im doing pretty ok online, 24w-5d-5L. Like I said, i dont pick barsa or real madrid, specially madrid that has 2 of the games allstars in 1 team. Have you tried setting your cards to "defense minded" for the center backs? it works for me they drop really deep and even when kaka and messi were charging me they held their position. Only problem is the long shots and thats why you need a fast DM. You see, i dont control my center backs, i pick my dm and chase ppl down. The AI is smarter than in 09 so soon or later a dribble will end up with no more room. Most people still tried to play like in 09, dribble dribble dribble, cut back to center stuff like that. It is not effective anymore, really need to be passing the ball around, take your time.
