Have a 23" Samsung HD 720p. PES2008 is HD still a bit juddery even after update which was for SD. On my 28" JVC Sd tv, plays well just graphics obviously not as sharp.

I have now connected my PS3 to the Samsing using component cable, set

cross colour reduction filter - off
RGB Full Range - limited
Super White - On

Now plays perfectly and the graphics are really sharp just off HD but no judder off line.

At last the game is almost perfect.

Also tried HDMI connection but chose 576p in xmb, display settings, even better!!

i have HDMI connection and HD but the settings you said made it really work
i also took off stadium effects coz it said you get flares from the crowd but i havent seen none of that wen i got the game
also rarely in a reallife football match you see people with flags and it cut them out as well and now there is no lag or anything so im happy with it and it dosent judder or anything anymore i mean its proper smooth.

hey online play is pretty much perfect i've been playing for a few weeks online now and you only get a little bit of lag in parts, thats it its pretty fluent now
