Never gonna happen.

99% of Latin American kids/gents lucky enough to play PES at all will do so on chipped consoles with pirate copies of the game etc.

Konami aint gonna invest in getting licenses to please a loyal bootlegging fanbase.

Don't talk bullshit, dude!!!

We have 200 million people here. Just the PS3's owners are more than population of Danmark, Belgium, Norway, Romenia, Switzerland, etc. All of them with 2 or 3 teams on PES.

We pay 70 euros for a PES too.

Respect a nation that you simply don't know!!!

I must say your comment seems very prejudiced towards the brazilian people and in fact all of Latin America.

I would like to see some brazilian clubs.

What's your source?

The fact that 90% of that country's population live in what we in the west would term 'utter fucking poverty and squalor', coupled with the fact that computer games themselves retail at double the cost of what they do in the US/Europe.

Now consider the average income of the average Latin American citizen i.e. Family of four lives of $8000 per annum (but most actually have less than that as the average takes into consideration the filthy rich elites), and do the maths.

As far as I am concerned, I don't need a source, but as it happens, I did a quick google and lo and behold it turns out I am totally correct. (Latin America is 2nd most in the world for proliferation of intellectual property piracy).

I have not included the link because if anyone really needs to have written proof of the blatantly obvious then they can go find it for themselves.

I think that MatTheCat has a point with respect to the PS2 version of the game. It's quite easy to buy illegal copies / "piratinhas" on the street or even in official game stores in Brazil. The same applies in Asia though..

For the PS3 this is a lot harder though.. I have never seen illegal copies for the PS3, but I may be mistaken..

PS: I am not based in Brazil, but I am there around two times every year..

I think they should break the study down by country. I'm sure it would be different considering Brazil is one of the better countries economicially in South America, and has one of the fastest growing economies in the world. They have a big chunk of the population that is fairly well off. However, Chile is the best country in that regards right now.

In some way Mat is right, but on PS3 days, his idea is real wrong. PS3 is impossible to do illegal copies, because of constant Sony patches stuff. Piracy on Brazil was high (not anymore nowadays) because we had to import tech stuff from US, and their taxes to our country is too high. But somehow the taxes lowered, and the USD ratio to our currency lowered too. And indeed our economy is growing up. So there is no need anymore to get use of piracy. And if you say, if I have condition to buy a PS3 for +- 800USD (Yes, that's the price we pay), how we don't have money to buy a PES 2009 for 75 USD?

And for PC it's cheaper, around 50. I paid this on mine 6 months ago.

But about the Brazilian teams. I would love to see a 1st division or even a Libertadores Cup. But we all know this is only a dream. FIFA bet on our love for soccer, and we have an EA distributor here, with translation of many other games. Maybe we have 1st division heremainly because of that.

But maybe the main fact is the Brazilian 1st division importance to Europe. So I have to ask. How much often do you guys hear about Brazilian teams?

Mate, if you can get chipped PS3's in this country you can most certainly get them in Brazil, give or take the odd 'blacklisting from online access'.

Perhaps you can afford to spend all that on gaming consoles but the vast majority of your fellow countrymen cannot, unlike in the West where everyone can if they really wanted to.

My point is that in Latin America, despite the huge population, there probably is not the economic incentive for Konami to aquire official licenses to satisfy its Latin American fanbase. I think my point still stands.

I got ur point mate. I agree with the 3rd part of ur text. We, latin, in majority, don't have conditions to spend this fee. But as a Brazilian, talking about my country, we have had a great economic grow in the past decade, and I should say maybe half of the population does well in their finances... I'm saying that being able to buy or not a game from Konami is not the point.

The point is the Brazilian soccer importance for the world scenario (even knowing that we are the top World Cup winners). We do launch some great players into Europe every year, but that is not enough. Let's say a Russian League i.e. They have a great league, great teams, some rich teams. But they aren't a top league, like England, Italy, Spain, Germany. So why not a Russian League, or more Russian teams? Same like Brazil. Visibility on World scenario.

Edit: Im curious. Is brazilian league tied to FIFA? No, right?

Brazilian teams please... if not all teams of the Brasileirao, at least the most important ones.

I'm also from Latin America. I do not deny the fact that there is piracy, but a lot of people also buy the game. In my country (Peru) the game is modded significantly in order to be able to play with teams from the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana... so being able to have some of those teams would be fabulous for everyone (no just argentinian and brazilian, but also some of the representers from Peru, Colombia, Mexico, Uruguay, Ecuador, etc.).

in Latin America PES is a religion. NOBODY plays FIFA there... in Peru people get together to watch big football matches together with friends, and we ALWAYS have 2 hours prior and after games of PES.

Ha! I was just about to post the same link to the petition! Glad it's gone around a bit at least.

Now listen, Konami, MattheCat may make a point, but consider this:
This is the only thing standing between me from getting PES instead of FIFA.

Yes, Piracy is a never ending nightmare, but you must understand that there is a part of the population that would die to see this happen.

And this isn't any country we are talking about. This isn't Paraguay, which has one of (if not the highest) rates of piracy in South America, and that also is a measly country when it comes to soccer (no offense, just trying to make a point).

This is BRAZIL! BRASIL! PENTACAMPEÃO MUNDIAL! FIVE TIMES FIFA WORLD CHAMPION. All the players that come to eventually fascinate Europe, such as Kaká, Ronaldinho, and the like have once played, and may eventually come to play again in the Brazilian league.

And what do you expect to accomplish by keeping the teams from us????
IT ONLY MAKES PEOPLE WANT TO PIRATE THE GAME TO GET THE BRAZILIAN LEAGUES ON THE GAME (brazuka, etc). PUTTING THE TEAMS ON COULD ACTUALLY HELP YOU A LOT.

Please take this into consideration. And if it doesn't happen this year, maybe eventually. I might not be buying PES anymore, but I might return if it does happen.

Sincerely,
Eduardo

With Boca and River Plate in the game, it'd make sense to get some of the bigger clubs from both Brasil and Mexico.

Why are you posting pictures of evil puppet bastards on such an innocent non-evil lying bastard related forum?

Or are you one of the many suckers naive enough to believe that Uncle Tom piece of crap is actually "going to be very nice to the 3rd world because he is (half) black?

If so, then don't fall for Western spin. Most people here no not to believe a damn word of the Headlies that come from our mainstream media, but we are too busy consuming our consumables to give much of a shit.
